Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said Wednesday evening she has no objection to the participation of gay Republicans at this weekend's gathering of conservatives in Washington.
Palin said she didn't see anything wrong with the participation of GOProud, a group of gay Republicans, at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which runs Thursday through Saturday.
"I don't have a problem with different, diverse groups that are involved in political discourse, and having a convention to talk about what the answers are to their problems that face America," Palin said Wednesday on Fox News when asked about GOProud.
Palin isn't participating in the conference, and she's declined previous invitations, despite CPAC's role as a cattle call for possible Republican presidential candidates.
But other prominent conservatives have said they're skipping the conference. The conservative Heritage Foundation and other socially conservative groups withdrew due to the inclusion of GOProud. And with those groups out, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) followed suit. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also declined participation, though it's unclear if that decision is linked to GOProud.
Aside from DeMint, though, the other Republicans mulling a run for president are slated to speak or participate at the conference, hoping in part to boost their standing in the closely watched straw poll of attendees.
Palin suggested that conservatives had more important issues to worry about than which groups were attending the conference.
"People are losing their jobs; they're losing homes. We're still engaged in a war," she said. "There are so many life-changing, life-and-death issues out there in front of us. You know, we'd better be concentrating on what is really important here and not going kind of tit-for-tat as people are positioning themselves for 2012."

“I’m against homosexuals marrying, serving in the military, indoctrinating our school children, or having any other special privileges, but other than that they have the same basic rights, not group rights, as any other citizen.”
___________________________________________
See, this is why you are a lib. You are inconsistent.
Lets discect: You don’t want homo’s indoctrinating our children. Any reasonable conservative understands that to mean that No Homosexuals are to be hired as teachers. Yet you go on to say that they should have the “same basic rights, not group rights, as any other citizen.”
I call your attention to my tagline. In case you haven’t seen it. It pisses off libs.
I wasn’t talking about Sarah Palin. I was replying to your assertions about Libertarians.
Nothing to do with Palin whatsoever.
Your comment was about Libertarians, and my reply was about the LP platform.
EOM.
I believe any individual who has performed or received oral sex heterosexually should recuse themselves from the discussion. Sodomy is as sodomy does.
OOps, only meant to italicize “yet again”. That’s what I get for not prevewing.
GOProud wants tax and SS bennies for homo-partners.
They want same sex marriage.
They want homos in the military.
They want special grants to homo-owned businesses and renovations of “old towns” where homos are known to live.
They want the US to hassle countries that are “mean” to homos.
They don’t mention abortion.
They want to (whoop-de-doo) “hold the line” on spending. Big freakin’ deal. But they want monies for them and their fellow queers.
They aren’t conservative at all.
CPAC is no longer conservative. If you want to be a cheering section for Dem liberals pretending to be conservatives in order to infiltrate and destroy that’s your choice. But I’d be careful being vocal about it.
Let me try to help you. Sarah Palin has never attended CPAC. She is not on their Board of Directors. She has no vested interest in CPAC.
Given that she’s declined all of their invitations, and is thereby totally unfamiliar with CPAC, why should she be concerned at all with the organization?
Her only comment that I can see is that she backs their freedom of speech at CPAC. She’s never been to CPAC. And it is run by liberals and muslim sympathizers.
I’m just waiting to hear some clear statements from her about, for instance, the repeal of DADT.
I’m not against Sarah Palin at all. I just want to know more clearly her stand on a few things, most notably, her viewpoint on the various goals of the homosexual agenda.
I just get the feeling she is sort of tippy toeing around this issue.
What does freedom of speech have to do with CPAC?
(hint: nothing.)
In case you don’t know, freedom of speech means the government cannot stop speech that they don’t like just ‘cause they don’t like it.
Freedom of speech has nothing to do with organizations allowing or disallowing groups to have their say.
1. How do you plan to know who those might be?
2. Who put you in charge of the discussion?
3. I didn't know oral sex was sodomy.
Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Let your fingers do the walking and get informed.
LOL
There are various meanings of “sodomy”. Some people like to bring up the oral sex = sodomy argument in order to (supposedly) pull the rug out from under peoples’ feet so they can’t oppose the fag agenda.
Thanks.
2. I didn't claim to be in charge. Why are you putting me in charge? I merely made a suggestion.
3. If it's not sodomy, it's at least Gomorrahy.
LOL!
I honestly don't know where this doubt is coming from. *Homosexuals are virulently opposed to her.
