you know that if Reagan is put on Mt Rushmore, the rats will insist on one of their own creeps....no thanks...
Mt Rushmore should remain Mt Rushmore...

So do you use public roads.. The government is useful for somethings among them infrastructure. Just today I was hearing public roads exist because the postal service which is authorized by the Constitution and created justification to make the roads. Ike apparently thought that too small a fig leaf or the highway system so it was created under the guise of "national security."

Looks ok although the hand on chin is an odd pose. The background could pass for CA. While I send very few pieces of mail, I’m nearly out of stamps. Still in all, I’m not a fan of “commemorative” stamps and will probably pass on these.

He said in his post he was not a fan of Reagan, that’s what my question was about. I didn’t say anything about FREEPERS had to buy stamps.
To: cherry
I think that you are probably correct about that. And I really doubt that it’s possible anyway.

So the problem is that the stamp is put out by the government? Consider thhat the government of our country, in today’s world, is honoring Ronald Reagan. That seems remarkable to me. I’m pleased.
But I don’t use the post office. Not because I object to it, but because I am an email fiend. I do all my communication via electronic means. When I MUST send something, I tend to use DHL.
But I like the stamp.

Great, all it will take now is one letter bomb with a Reagan stamp on it to get the Left all in a tizzy again over contrived Tea Party “extremism” and concocted talkradio “climate of hate—let's bring back the fairness doctrine” crap!
I can just see some Far Left wacko licking his lips as he licks the stamp knowing conservatives will get the blame.

The post office is desperate for money, Jimmy Carter, and Obama doesn't sell, Ronald Reagan does, expect long lines at the post office.

I will buy these - and USE them!
Some people still send letters and what an excellent way to remind people of contrast.

If you look on the USPS website, nearly all images of stamps have the denomination crossed out in exactly the same way:
Like someone said earlier, it's a simplistic anti-counterfeiting measure.

The image I just saw has a 44 on it, so that’s not a forever stamp. Too bad. If it’s a 44 it will be outmoded the next time they raise the first class postage rates.

They said previously it will be forever. “Reagan forever”
That’s why the 44 is crossed out
