Attorneys for former governor Rod Blagojevich have asked a federal judge to order prosecutors to produce two phone calls his lawyers say are mysteriously missing from evidence.
In a motion filed overnight, Blagojevich's attorneys say the calls would support the former governor's contention that he is innocent of charges alleging he attempted to sell Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat after the November 2008 election.
While much of the motion is blacked out to comply with orders that the conversations remain under seal, it appears at least one of the alleged conversations was between then Chief of Staff John Harris and then congressman Rahm Emanuel, who had just taken the post as president-elect Obama's chief of staff.
"The missing call casts all of the other evidence in a different light," the lawyers write. "Moreover, the failure of the government to disclose this call, and the failure to reference this facto the jury or the Court should raise the suspicion of the Court."

So, are these like the missing college transcripts, missing kindergarten records, missing IL Senate voting record, or Abercrombie’s missing Obama birth certificate?

Don’t they have hundreds or thousands of hours in recorded calls etc.? What an amazing coinky-dink that the missing ones involve Rahm (soon to be mayor) Emanuel.
I concur with another poster that what’s probably going to happen is Blago will skate on a technicality and Obama administration will throw up its hands and say “What can you do with these lenient judges?” We shoulda seen this coming.
Wonder if Tony will ever get sentenced, or is that too another case that will get mysteriously botched?
I don’t understand how a guy as self-righteous as Fitzgerald can sleep at night. But I guess he’s been mucking around in that swamp long enough to have become an expert in the “Chicago Way.”

He didn’t walk, in the first trial. He was convicted of one count out of 24, and he could be sentenced to up to five years, in prison.

Has anyone read the motion? It’s got more blacked-out areas than the plans for the dry hydrogen bomb. you’ve GOT to wonder what’s in there. Reading the NON-blacked out parts of the document will make even a hardened criminal puke - that these people are actually entrusted with power.

I don’t know what kind of promises Caliph Obummer made to Blago, but I have been thinking about Chicago and connecting some dots. This is just based on hunches; I have not done any digging.
Several questions have swirled around in my head, but it started with
Why is it so important for Rahm to be mayor of Chicago that the Caliph gave Daley an important postion in exchange for allowing Rahm to run?
Some thoughts I have had:
Blago is a piker compared to this bunch when it comes to corruption and was set up by Soros’ Boy to get him out of the way.
I remember that it was so important to the Caliph and Chewbacca to get the Olympics for Chicago because they had buddies set to make a killing on various derelict properties they held around town. It occurred to me after hearing the Caliph talk about the high speed bullet train that they are now telling those friends not to worry because there is another chance coming with the building of the train facilities. With Rahm as mayor, the corruption will go so much more smoothly.
As good as a walk, Blago will not see one minute of jail time.
Did you read Karl Rove's book? Fitzgerald has no conscience and his "self-righteousness" is a cloak he uses to hide his gross abuses of prosectorial discretion.
