Where is the State Dept.? Don't we have hundreds of people sitting over there in Foggy Bottom with no other job except to know what's going on in Egypt...what are they doing?

Matthews does have a point there. I've wondered often just what our state department folks do. I know we have specialists for any country of any size, and analysts. So what have all those analysts and specialists had to say about Egypt the past few years?

Wouldn't be at all shocked to learn that the State Department has been PCed and multicultied like most other institutions in the US. I expect they spend their time spinning all events and realities about various nations into the proper PC BS rather than engaging in objective analysis.

Where is the State Dept.?

I think the State Dept., like every other agency or institution, has essentially been shut out of what is becoming an increasingly executive-controlled government. It's controlled by Obama and a handful of unelected (and probably even unknown) "advisors," who make and enact policy all on their own.

It was clear at the very start that Hillary was merely a figurehead, with no power whatsoever; in fact, she didn't even get to go along on Obama's world tours or get to participate in them even remotely. L'etat c'est moi...

There was a thread on this forum yesterday telling that The Kenyan was warned last year about Egypt about to erupt.
