I received a message from a good friend of Budge's telling me that he had passed away either last night or this morning. I don't know any particulars yet. I got an email from him just yesterday. I know Budge had lots of friends on FR and was active for many years and attended numerous events. I thought y'all would want to know.

"Was he about your age?" No; he was quite a bit older than me.

He always amazed me with his humor and positive attitude, despite his devastating disability. I can’t imagine that I would accept such a hand nearly as graciously. Now he can be restored.

"Any idea what happened?" I got an email from him yesterday, and his friend that contacted me said he talked to him yesterday and he seemed fine, so it was apparently very sudden. I'm waiting to hear more and will post as soon as I know something.

"was he a combat vet, or were there medical issues surrounding the loss of his limbs?" I found the courage to ask him that oce. As it turns out, it was youthful foolishness that brought about his injuries. I won't go into detail, but the short version is that he was hit by a train. It's nothing short of a miracle that he survived. I think he told me he was 20 when it happened.

Rest in peace Budge - you will be missed.
I’ll never forget our freep of Hillary at her book signing in Blytheville.

I complained about my typos once, and he showed me a pic of his hands.

You're welcome... until today, I didn't know the kind of cards Budge had been dealt in life regarding his physical being. His soul burned bright and really came out in his spirit, and that impression is just from a cyber relationship. I'd like to take the liberty of imagining that a personal relationship with Budge was something really special.

I find his last post interesting. It would be significant for a Christian I think.

I can see why- Budge had an indomitable spirit! Thank you for the pictures. They are certainly a boost in one’s ability to reminisce about Budge.

FR has lost another sail that will be difficult to replace. May God rest his soul and comfort his loved ones. Thanks for posting sweetliberty.

Considering the injuries he suffered in his youth... I'd also say that he was a man of true grit.
