Trump: Obama 'Isn't Doing Anything in Middle East'
Newsmax ^

Posted on 01/30/2011 10:47:21 PM PST by tsowellfan

In his exclusive interview with Newsmax, billionaire Donald Trump insists the United States must find a better way to deal with the dangers posed by the oil cartel OPEC.

“I think it’s unfair. I think it’s illegal,” he declares. “If you have a store and I have a store and we collude and set prices, we go to jail.

“Here you have 12 men, in this case all men, they sit around a table and they set the price of oil.

“Abu Dhabi, which has plenty of oil, just went to all natural gas for transportation because they want to sell us the oil at exorbitant prices. When you tell me about Obama and what he’s doing in the Middle East, I don’t think he’s doing anything in the Middle East.

“We have to do something about OPEC because that’s the life blood of the country.”

Bingo! Trump is some peoples “Flavor of the Month”.

He’s been right about China for awhile so that catches some peoples eye but overall I’ll put him in a wait and see mode, but usually in these flavor of the months specials one is disappointing after awhile to many people

I wouldn’t trust Trump and he’s too much of a showboat type. Hasn’t Trump gone bankrupt several times?

I support Donald Trump, so far, he’s the best one out there.

Ok, sure, but look at his business empire. I think that’s also relevant.

I’m not throwing my support behind Mr. Trump just yet. At this point I am in the “intrigued and curious” stage.

I agree. I only stated it was worth "Consideration" and he has a smokin' hot wife. Beyond that, it is up to him to make the sale. He also has a smokin't hot daughter. Would be better to look at than Chelsea Clintoon was. I'm just saying.

Here’s the way I see it.
We already have people in power who know how to make money, look at the net worth of most of our congressmen.
The problem is not do they know how to make money (they do- they pass law to require something be done and then their friends make money - insider trading anyone ?and they get fat and so do their friends ) The problem is we keep electing people with no morals that don’t love this country.

America’s problem isn’t how to make money . It’s the reprobates we put in office who strangle that ability so they can make more .

We’ve had someone like 0 before - Jimmy Carter (only this time 0 is much worse) and it took a moral God fearing patriot by the name of Ronald Reagan to turn us around.

We have someone right now just like him is Sarah Palin .
American’s don’t need a CEO to micro manage them instead they need someone who really loves this country , who isn’t part of the establishment that has no fear to cut those ropes they tie up our economy with.

“I’m curious how many people on FR would support Mr. Trump if he were to run.”

Is this a poll?

I vote no!

Are there no adult conservatives on this thread old enough to remember Ross Perot?

I’m curious how many people on FR would support Mr. Trump if he were to run.

Not I. His reward to one team on The Apprentice was to give them an afternoon with Chuckie Cheese Schumer. In another, his reward was a visit to the Playboy Mansion (which was uncomfortably funny because the winning team was all women and one gay man). So, no, Trump wouldn't get my vote but don't worry because he won't win so much as a primary.

Be nice if Trump crawled back into his hole.

He donated huge sum of money to Rahm Emmanuel’s campaign.

I just don’t get the hair. He would look so much better with a regular haircut. This is so odd. You’d think his wife would tell him the truth about how his hair looks.

Lera, I REALLY liked how you put that. Well said, and definitely something I think is worth sharing in future discussions on this particular topic. Orange, the fact that he sent a bunch of women and a homosexual to the playboy mansion cracks me up. If it came down to Mr. Trump vs Obama, I'd cite that as my reason for voting for Mr. Trump.

All in all, I don't know that I could support him, but I am very interested in how he will manage a campaign, and how the media will deal with him.

Personally, I'd like to see Stephen King as our president. The man has spent so much time wrapping his mind around horror and the end of the world that he's the only one we can trust to handle a post-Obama America!

No, I don't add sarcasm tags. People should be able to tell that wasn't serious.

Unless Donald T. wants “global law” (shiver) the oil cartels are something that the world has to put up with. What the US can do is drill, baby, drill.

If we had drilled for our own oil years ago, and if we drilled now, would we really give a good damn what these 12 guys set the price of opil at?

That is the point that needs to be made.
We have poile right here we should tell them to take their oil and shove it, but we cannot because we cannot drill for our own.

The US buys three times as much oil from Canada and Mexico as it does from Saudi Arabia. The price manipulation is more complex than just OPEC.
