AMMAN, Jordan (AP) - The leader of Jordan's powerful Muslim Brotherhood warned Saturday that unrest in Egypt will spread across the Mideast and Arabs will topple leaders allied with the United States.

"The Americans and (President Barack) Obama must be losing sleep over the popular revolt in Egypt," he said. "Now, Obama must understand that the people have woken up and are ready to unseat the tyrant leaders who remained in power because of U.S. backing."

Saeed did not specifically name King Abdullah. But he said Jordan's prime minister "must draw lessons from Tunisia and Egypt and must swiftly implement political reforms."

"We tell the Americans 'enough is enough'," he said.

Oil is now $100 a barrel. Obama doing nothing.

This is spreading throughout ME. It is not about "freedom." It is all about anti-US, anti-West.

Jordan is our second biggest Islamic friend in ME, Egypt is (was) #1.

This is a disaster.

Is Turkey in the ME? I thought they were our biggest ally.

This has the potential to be a real move for freedom.

However, Obama has to make moves to ensure that the Muslim Brotherhood does not take the lead here.

I heard he's watching basketball this morning.

As mentioned earlier Saeed of the muslim brotherhood(i will never capitalize that word). Political reforms=sharia law.

I hope somebody at the pentagon has plans to get our troops to the relative safety of our ships on short notice.

When governments fall, supply lines are cut. I suspect we’ll lose access to Egyptian airspace no matter who wins this one.

Yeah, freedom for the Islamists to finally sweep the ME.

Get real.

Turkey was a marginal ally before the last election, I don’t think they’d qualify now

"Oil is now $100 a barrel. Obama doing nothing."

No, he's not. And, it's not a - unsurprisingly - very smart move on his part.

He won the election in 2008, not because of the weakness of McCain's campaign, or the so-called financial crisis, but because gasoline was near record prices in the summer of 2008. That is what set the table for his election.

But, the same thing can happen to him - and, not only might we see skyrocketing fuel prices, but we could conceivably see gas lines cira 1978. Even ignoring what that will do to unemployment, a real energy crisis - like one that would be precipitated by a Islamicists control of the Suez, would guarantee he'd lose the election to Pee Wee Herman.

Jimmah Cahter Part Deaux.

If we are to be grateful to anyone, it should be the Israelis. Imagine if Stuxnet never happened? Revolution in the ME and Iran would have a bomb.

Might be time to clear out Gaza.

From where are you getting the 100+ per barrel figure? Futures yesterday closed at 89.34.

I for one have appreciated the elections in Iraq lately.

And we had a chance to encourage a move for freedom in Iran but Obama sat on his hands.

This could be the same type of deal if the Muslim Brotherhood could be controlled. As John Bolton says, it could happen.

That is a vast oversimplification.

This situation cannot be cut down into “we vs they”, though that will be very convenient for groups with their own agenda.

Everything about uprisings are messy...they look a lot more black and white in retrospect and history books...but most are extremely messy and opaque.

Forbes.com

“Brent crude oil contracts for March, “the global benchmark,” hit their highest level since late 2008 at $99.63 per barrel on January 28.”

Spot a few min ago was $103.22

"Turkey was a marginal ally before the last election, I don’t think they’d qualify now."

After this weekend, I'd say it's a safe bet that any Mohammedan "friends" an American in the ME may have had will be playing the "I don't know you" game by Monday.
