Were coming up on 44 years in June (I believe) since that war. Since then Israel and Egypt have signed agreements and have become fairly decent neighbors.
Well there was that little incident in 1973. Something like 18,000 Egyptians and Syrians got dead in that one and 2,800 Israelis. Caused the Arab oil embargo, wrecked the US economy. US went to Defcon 2 (only time we ever have) and scrambled nuclear armed bombers when the Russians threatened to land troops to bail out the Egyptians. But hey I see how you could miss that one.
