A celebrity journalist now claims he misspoke when he said last week that Hawaii’s governor told him he was unable to find President Barack Obama’s original birth certificate after a search of state and hospital archives.
Mike Evans told FoxNews.com on Wednesday he was remorseful and embarrassed that he appeared to have given the impression that he had discussed the search for Obama’s birth certificate with Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie.
Evans, who says he has been a close friend of Abercrombie since the 1980s, appeared on Minnesota’s KQRS radio last week and said he’d been told by the governor himself that Obama’s birth certificate was nowhere to be found. Evans told KQRS on Jan. 20:
"Yesterday, talking to Neil's office, Neil says that he searched everywhere using his powers as governor ..... there is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii. Absolutely no proof at all that he was born in Hawaii."
But that’s no longer Evans’ story.
“Only this I can you tell you is 100 percent fact: that Neil never told me there was no birth certificate,” Evans told Fox News. “I never talked to him.”

This is not a true statement. That you choose to reject all evidence doesn't mean there is no evidence.

Evans keeps denying his own words...I would characterize him as birther clueless. Jerome Corsi joins the conversation and Evans pretty much admits he is ill-informed on the subject.

We know that Abercrombie did not tell Evans. The last time he spoke to Abercrombie according to Evans in the Boyles interview was during a C-SPAN interview the day after Obama was inaugurated.
And he told Boyles that he was going to follow up his call to Abercrombie.

That might be enough to deter some people, but not Judge David Carter, a Marine veteran and hero of Khe Sanh. That’s why I infer that threats against family are more likely to be the ultimate persuader.

So...are there any sunshine laws over there? Do governors keep phone records?
Even then, there’s a way around it. Probably no recordings. All in all this sounds like an attempt to cover governor’s flanks. Discussing private medical info acquired because of his power as governor, must be a crime.
Anyone who says there is no BC or anyone who says they will produce said BC, has to recant and back track within 48 hours of going on record publicly.
Obama must have a staff that is dedicated to calling these people and threatening them seriously. Or paying them off. I suspect the former.
These new shenanigans should wake up the new Congress to the fact that there is something very rotten in HI.
