As Joe Biden said, he’s pretty articulate for a black guy.

Speaking of Biden, did he have a case of indigestion tonight? There were a number of times when he seemed to be trying to stifle a burp. Watch a replay of the SOTU; it's rather amusing to watch what the veep was doing.

In response to your post above, I thought Biden did fairly well for Biden tonight. He reminded me of a preacher's wife watching her husband delivering a sermon, all meek and enraptured (to the extent that Biden can focus on anything for very long.)

But what really caught my eye was Boehner. He was a real hoot. I watched him throughout the entire speech and really enjoyed myself. From the beginning, he had that “I'm so bored, and I have to be here” look. He dead panned through the entire thing, only stood up for our troops and I think Rep. Gifford. I thought he actually grimaced on a number of occasions. I actually thought I saw the Speaker of the House making faces at and behind the President's back. Maybe it was just me, but Boehner really looked like he was making fun of the Won. He kept licking his lips, and looked like he was dying of thirst and not just for the water he repeatedly drank. Methinks the Speaker is a bit of an over-imbiber. Bet me, he ran for the bar as soon as he could. And that's his business, but he did provide a bit of comic relief for me tonight and made the dullest and dumbest SOTU a lot more palatable for me. I need a drink myself after Obama’s sorry bit of theater.
