But “high cap” mags over 10 rounds will be banned by 2012 and forever after. Count on it.

I doubt it. So many of the newly elected Reps from both sides of the aisle have such sturdy creds in this area, I don't think that even Tuscon will be able to overcome the radiation that emanates from gun control and the chilling effect it has on political careers. The fact that Americans each and every month from Nov 2008 thru March of 2010 purchased enough firearms, magazines and ammo to completely equip the combined armies of both India and pakistan (each and every single month!) will have a calming effect on the pols who want to remain in power. It wasn't just Republicans buying all that firepower, after all. The RATS are so deep in the hole that nobody except the mental moonbeams like Boxer and Feinstein and Carolyn McCarthy are going to sign onto this kind of legislative kool-aid. I just don't see it happening. EVEN IF it makes it past the Senate (which I doubt), it is still DOA in the House.

A high cap mag ban is going to happen, I'd bet a bundle on it. At least 50 squishy RINOs will peel off and vote for the,

"Gabby Giffords Safe And Sane Responsible Gun Ownership Law to Prevent Mass Murder."

PS: Even warlike hunter/shooter Dick Cheney says, “We don’t need these extended magazines.”

I’ve already seen a dozen RINOs support their ban. “We’re not going after your guns,” they say. “But nobody needs these high capacity massacre-makers.”
