The new Republican House majority leader says he doesn't think questions about President Barack Obama's citizenship should play a role in the discussion of policy matters.
Two years into the Obama administration, so-called birthers continue to argue that Obama isn't a natural-born citizen and that he hasn't proved he's constitutionally qualified to be president. Birth records in Hawaii haven't dissuaded them.

Of course Obama is a citizen -- no one is questioning that. But the Constitution requires the president be a natural-born citizen -- a critical distinction.
We need to be vigilent in correcting this intentional attempt to confuse the issue (just like with the "anti-immigrant" vs. anti-illegal immigrant distinction).
and i believe he is a commie with foreign/anti-American allegiances hell bent on diminishing and possibly destroying the United States
since believing without proof is all that is needed... i say arrest him now
If I were Cantor, I’d simply quote the greatest President of our lifetime... “I did not have.....” oops sorry... “Trust But Verify!”
“Cantor says he believes that Obama wants what’s best for the country and that there are honest disagreements over how to achieve that”
...I’m extremely dissapointed in that statement! He knows damn well that the kenyan wants what’s best for his dream of Marxism and that’s NOT what’s best for the country. We need term limits for linguini spined Rinos like Cantor!
Cantor is just speaking for Speaker Boehner, who is apparently afraid to subpoena the birth records. If Boehner, Issa and Cantor are all too timid to send out a subpoena, then there isn’t much hope for anything serious happening. In that regard, I noticed that Cantor this morning was also arguing against making any significant changes in Social Security or any of the other welfare programs. It increasingly looks to me like the GOP leadership just wants to be in the majority so that they can be in the majority, but they have no idea what they want to do with any power that being in the majority confers.
I agree totally.
Got life jackets?
It matters because the truth is important. Because senior dims know he is not eligible and that is why his college records are redacted. Because in spite of constitutional ineligibility they pushed him upon the American public. Because it is important for Americans to know that the dims will tell any lie and commit any fraud to achieve political power. Because the dims have as much contempt for Americans as they have for the Constitution. Because no law matters in the least to dims. I could go on and on. A valid Hawaiian birth certificate will never be produced. BO doesn't have one. Look for fraud now. They have had a lot of time. I want to see all his college records. You will find the answers there.
Cantor and the rest of the GOPers who abetted the DNC and Juan McCain in the fraud are not going to ever admit they question Obama’s qualification because that could be used against them when the truth comes out.
If they know and they did nothing, or worse, coordinated a political strategy to cover it up (they did), they participated in a crime of treason.
So they are playing “don’t ask, don’t tell” so they can be seen as not knowing about the fraud. But they are all liars. They know Obama is not able to produce the proper documentation for qualification.
They have watched the court cases where he fights tooth and nail to avoid presenting his citizenship documentation. They know people in their party were asking questions during the last election and they did all they could to cover it up rather than facing the question as is their constitutional duty. They know... They think they have “progressed” beyond the legalities of silly old document.
“Cantor says he believes that Obama wants what’s best for the country and that there are honest disagreements over how to achieve that”
To quote Freeper marron:
“We did not send these guys to Washington to help Obama govern, we sent them to stop him!”
I don’t think Cantor got that message!!
That is correct. They have ALL been bought off by corporate interests, affordable housing groups, etc.
If you only knew how much power LaRaza has in DC, you would be absolutely shocked.
Some over at the FR Sunday Morning Talkshow thread a while ago were applauding Cantor’s words.

Just thought it needed to be said and repeated.
His baby daddy was NOT AN AMERICAN CITIZEN!
That makes him a dual citizen at best.
NOT NBC! NOT ELIGIBLE!
It sounds as if he just avoided the question. And he refused to call birthers “crazy.”
Nevertheless, how on earth can these jerks say that they “believe” Obama is a citizen, when no proof whatsover has been offered, and when Obama refuses to provide any?
Why not at least say, “I don’t really understand why Obama refuses to release any of his records: including a valid birth certificate or any of his college records.”
Well, well. Should have read the cheers on this thread as well. I’m very disappointed in FR this morning.
Why? That’s my question. Why do you believe it?
A few years ago after moving to a new state I needed to change my driver’s license and I had to provide several forms of ID. I brought my birth certificate which was a hospital-produced certificate with a raised seal and the only copy of it that I or my parents ever had.
I was told that it was invalid and that the only legitimate birth certificate they would accept was a government generated birth certificate. I ordered a copy online from VitalCheck for about $30. It came in the mail after a few weeks and I still have it.
I went to VitalCheck and filled out the form for ordering a birth certificate for Obama. After putting in the name, date of birth, state and city I received the following message.
“A certified birth certificate that can typically be used for travel, passport, proof of citizenship, social security, driver’s license, school registration, personal identification and other legal purposes. Birth Certificates are available for events that occurred in Hawaii from 1853 to present.
Important Note - this agency issues certificates for emergencies only. You will be requested to submit proof of urgency, such as plane tickets, etc. Office hours are 7:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m, Monday through Friday.”
So, for the past two years and for years prior all Zero had to do was call the number provided and pay a small fee to have an official, government issued birth certificate mailed to him at the White House. Instead, he has spent millions trying to prevent it’s disclosure.
Why in the world would someone not simply produce the document? A birth certificate contains no information that is not already publicly available. Or does it?
The only way, and I’m not sure even this will work, is for several States to require any candidate to prove they are eligible before that candidate can be placed on the ballot.
It’s amazing that this question even has to be entertained. Esp since proof of ‘Natural born’ would be so easy, if true.
Believe me I’m as interested as anyone in getting to the truth. My point is that going after Clinton didn’t get us anywhere - only got Clinton sympathy and made us look petty.
As to Obama, personally, I don’t think the native-born rule even means anything today. I went to college at a large school and believe me, being born in this country sure as hell did not mean people supported it. In fact, I would argue that the non-American students supported this country in greater percentages than the American-born students. That’s just the way things are.
As to showing the country that he is a fraud - do you really think the country is going to gasp and want him thrown out of power. Pleeeezzzzeee - you know better. It will (again) backfire on us.
Anyway, those are my thoughts.
Yes, and I believe pigs fart truffles.....no wonder the liberals love them...
