Why should an Australian citizen be conversant & familiar with AMERICAN freedom of information requests????????

I certainly do NOT intend to file one, who wants a big target on themselves, their house, their kids & career.

Huh?

If you are in Timbuktu and spending A LOT OF TIME researching Obama..you might think about looking into an FOIA request.

That would make sense.

The reason not to do is just as you say.

That is why , in this particular case, it might make sense for a foreigner to do it.

However, when I make a post wondering why Allen and Strunk didn’t look into Obama Sr (since they were already on record) and someone makes post after post to me telling me it isn’t possible..I am going to respond, yes indeed it is possible..and you don’t need to be a US Citizen to do it.

It takes just a few minutes to look into an FOIA request.

Whether or not someone wants to do it is another story.

How can you research Obama in depth ( no matter where you live) and not recognize there is such a thing as FOIA is beyond me.
