Maybe Obama intends to release it two months before the next election, so he can show the Birthers and their ilk to be fools. If so, he’ll be seen as nuttier than them. Who the hell does this? You’re the Prez, for God’s sake. Is it all just a trick? I don’t know, but it’s very bizarre. This guy’s more secretive than Nixon. Like Nixon, it may be the cover-up that brings Barry down. Something’s up, but I think we should take him down politically by stressing the issues first.
Sorry, but if I need to show my Birth Certificate to get married, surely the President has a higher bar to clear.
Why this isn’t SOP before one can get into the Oval Office is beyond me.
Abercrombie was acting like he wanted to release it (as REQUIRED by Hawaii law now that Fukino has publicly announced what was on it) and then all of a sudden in an interview last Friday (which these articles conveniently leave out) he bumbled around about it to a reporter who asked, saying he’s told that there’s been an investigation and that there’s actually a “recording” of his birth, it actually exists, it’s in the archives, it’s actually written down...
The significance of that is that birth certificates are not kept in the archives. They are kept at the HDOH. The only records that go from the HDOH to the archives are microfilms of COHB’s (Certificates of Hawaiian Birth) that are 75 or more years old. If Abercrombie had people investigate, looking for something on Obama’s birth, and all they managed to find was in the archives, there’s a big problem.
The media is hiding Abercrombie’s statements. Both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity had opening monologues about what Abercrombie said, but the so-called “news” outlets are leaving that part out.
I think Abercrombie was told by Obama’s handlers to say he was going to try to find a way to release the birth certificate, to prepare the public for a grand unveiling of a forged birth certificate they’ve been working on.
But between the time Abercrombie came out swinging his fists at the “birthers” and the time he went crawling away with his tail between his legs, there was a thread right here on Free Republic recommending a particular eligibility bill for state legislatures to pass that differed from everything that was already on the table in that it required the TRANSACTION LOGS for the records to be disclosed as well, to insure that no forged or tampered records were submitted.
I think when Obama’s handlers saw that, they realized they could be in big legal trouble if they brought out a forgery and a state then passed a law which would cause the forgery to be revealed as such when Obama submitted it to get placed on the ballot.
So they dropped it like a ton of bricks. But they forgot to tell the state-run press that, so a reporter asked about it and Abercrombie bumbled around like an idiot, actually saying something that contradicted Fukino so that one or the other of them is lying. That bumbling around got the attention of a lot of people, including Rush and Hannity.
The same day as Rush and Hannity picked up on this, Hawaii’s AG finally - almost a month after Abercrombie had made such a big deal about saying he would disclose the birth certificate - supposedly told Abercrombie he couldn’t release the CERTIFIED records, which nobody is asking for. If he had left off the “certified” he’d be outright lying.
Rush thinks the whole thing was an attempt to get him (Rush) and others to talk about Obama having no birth certificate, and then later on Abercrombie would unveil a birth certificate to try to make them look like fools. But I think this whole episode has made HIM look like a fool and has illustrated exactly why we need a bill that eliminates all this horsing around, conflicting statements, and obfuscation.
I don’t think Abercrombie would have deliberately made a claim suggesting that all they have for Obama is in the archives rather than the HDOH. I think he bumbled around because he knew if one state passes a bill like the one recommended at http://butterdezillion.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/final-short-form-eligibility-bill1.pdf he’d be found out as a crook. So he didn’t know what to say. That he couldn’t find ANYTHING? Not good. That he found a long-form BC (and then it is later found out as a forgery)? Not good. So he bumbled.
Abercrombie has already played fast and loose with a supposed letter signed by Obama saying Obama was born at Kapiolani Hospital. Abercrombie “read” that letter on video but the letter he actually delivered to Kapiolani “from Obama” was different than what he “read”. And if what Abercrombie said (about them having to look in the archives to find a written record of Obama’s birth) is true, then there is no way Obama was born at Kapiolani Hospital, which would have been required to file a BC which would then have been at the HDOH not the archives.
