Keith Olbermann was fired by MSNBC sources tell TMZ, and we're told it had everything to do with Comcast's acquisition of NBC.
Sources connected with the network tell us ... Comcast honchos did not like Keith's defiance and the way he played in the sandbox.
Our sources say Keith has around two years left on his contract, and he'll be paid his salary -- around $7 million a year.
We don't know if Comcast will let Keith make a deal with another network as part of an exit agreement, but it's a good bet he'll be benched for a minimum of 6 months, and probably longer.
Comcast had him in the crosshairs -ooops sorry I said the “C” word.
“The DUmmies are over there whining”
Yea, having fun reading their comments.
Freeper High-Fives to you all.
I’m sure a promising career at pbs/npr awaits him...
Wheaties box?
Sneaker brand?
Cologne line?
Tattood, body pierced, dope smoking, minimum wage earning, Associate degree in fine arts (or GED or dropouts), self loathing, still living at home, twerps I believe the more accurate description.
That’s false. He was making at most $7 mil per year. And since NBCU terminated the last 2 years of his contract, he’s not making that kind of gravy anymore and it’s stipulated in the agreement that once one or both sides terminated the contract, they can’t work at another media outlet for the balance of the terminated contract. IOW, he’s out of work for the next two years.
CNN said that Comcast terminated the contract and that Keith Olbermann under the terms of the agreement can't work at any other media outlet for the next two years (time remaining on the old contract).
Since he's been fired from places like ESPN, Fox Sports and CNN, I don't see very many options for him except perhaps progressive radio, which gets even less of an audience than MSBHO does.
Sirus XM might take him. Or maybe he can leech on to Dan Patrick and revive his sportscasting career.
Dan Patrick don’t like him. He’s said so many times on his radio show. Patrick is one of many from ESPN who said Olbermann was hard to work with.
You’re Fired.
And here is your check for $14,000,000.00.
K. O. GONNA GET 14 MILLION MORE FOR DOING NOTHING...????
AGH!!!!!
I’ll hate anybody for a $14 million dollar, two year vacation. Where do I sign up???
He’s going to replace Gibbs.
That is the democrat way.
Yes, he would be one more of thousands and thousands of ignored bloggers.
The irrelevant becomes the insignificant.
Milk carton.
BTW, Olbermann has just been canned according to Drudge.
He would fit well on Sirius Left (146). Mike Malloy without the shakes. However it would breach his MSNBC contract. He’s off the air for two years. I predict within two years he will be in a rubber room after being found on the street screaming in people’s faces like the lunatic he is.
