"To build a strong base of conservative Black entrepreneurs, elected officials and constituents that provide Black conservatives a viable way to express and implement their conservative values politically." So is it conservative or black? I guess race does matter.

Maybe race matters to the folks within the community. It's got to be tough to be a black conservative if only because no matter where he/she goes, it's assumed he/s liberal until and unless otherwise identified, and the same doesn't hold true for white folks or Asians, for that matter.

So a black person anywhere is, in a way, holding up a sign that says, "There's a 90 percent chance I'm a screaming liberal," just the same way as a hippy-dippy vegan college kid does. Sad, but true?

It's got to be quadruple-true if you're a black conservative living in a black neighborhood. I can imagine there being a lot of closet conservatives and Republicans there. So in order to change it, I suppose they might need to make it about race in that context, and that's fine with me. Wish I could help, but don't know how other than with political support.

Self-segregation happens.

Wind, some day this will be behind us. I'd be interested in your take.

You think? That is why they are not just conservatives but black conservatives because race matters in the black community. Not just entrepreneurs but black entrepreneurs because race matters in the black community. That is why McDonald has 365 Black because race matter in the black community. That is why they hide statues of George Washington because race matter in the black community.

Well, what you say is absolutely the case. Just walking around in a black skin is an advertisement to most people that you're a Democrat, at the very least. These days, many folks assume that if you're black, you're also an affirmative action liberal.

Americans of all stripes tend look at blacks and automatically assume that they fall on the left.

When people discover that I'm a conservative, it's something of a shock to them - no matter their personal politics. They just do not expect it.

Depending on their politics, I'm soon their best buddy, or I'm a race-hating traitor who's been brainwashed by the evil right-wing. The kinder lefties simply consider me to be a lost soul.

There aren't a whole lot of black conservatives on this forum, but those who are, feel just like any other conservative about the subject of race. It's simply irrelevant and inconsequential to our world view.

That being said, those blacks who are still behind the barbed wire fence of the liberal plantation are more comfortable getting the conservative message from someone whom they perceive to be "their own". That doesn't mean that black conservatives feel the same as they do, but we can appreciate the mindset of those who are still trapped within the prison of leftist (racist) indoctrination.

All black conservatives know deep in their bones that they bear the responsibility of spearheading the movement to enlighten other blacks to conservatism. As distasteful as it is for us to assume this responsibility because of our race, the job is ours. There's no getting around that reality.
