Obama's White House State Dinner to boast 'Who's Who' list including Jackie Chan, Barbra Streisand

WASHINGTON - Chinese President Hu Jintao scored the full-hoopla treatment at the White House on Wednesday, a tribute to his country's growing global clout.
President Obama rolled out the literal red carpet for a critical if uncertain strategic partner, not to mention one of America's largest bondholders.
A full pomp-and-circumstance arrival ceremony on the South Lawn launched a day of talks capped by a rarity in the Obama years - a glittering state dinner Hu didn't rate on his 2006 visit during the Bush administration.
In between all the Bigtime Visitor spectacle, Obama and Hu hashed over ways to expand exports - and create jobs - for their respective countries and explored common ground on North Korea, Iran and other world hotspots.
They both resorted to the standard "candid," "pragmatic," "constructive" and "frank" diplospeak to signal that there was plenty of discussion over sore spots in the relationship.

President Obama rolled out the literal red carpet.....

My husband and I are both amazed at what’s happening here since my Love fought in Nam ‘68 and ‘69 USMC. Against communism, BTW.
Today, the BO is honoring a communist. The red flags are flying and my ancestors are turning over in their graves.

Beijing always has objected to meetings between foreign leaders and the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama began visiting Washington, D.C., in 1991. In late 2007, George W. Bush presented the Dalai Lama with the Congressional Gold Medal in the first public appearance of a U.S. president with the Tibetan spiritual leader.
Since then, and after riots swept through Tibetan areas of China in early 2008, China has stepped up its opposition to the Dalai Lama’s international outreach.
“China has had a huge run of success in this strategy of using the Dalai Lama as a sort of casus belli,” said Robert Barnett, director of the modern Tibetan studies center at Columbia University. The result has been a sharp reduction in the number of meetings between the Dalai Lama and foreign leaders: two last year, compared with an average of four per year during the previous four years.
Thanks woofie.
Any guest worthy of attending the WH does not deserve the backdoor, dumpster treatment. Shameful, and an embarrassment to the U.S.
I dont know what the back door thing was all about but it happened with Obama at the helm

Hopefully Vera Wang will eat something at the dinner. She looks dangerously thin. Someone needs to tell her that only the models need to starve themselves.
I’ll give them credit, there aren’t nearly the number of Hollywood creatures as there were in the Clinton years (I suspect Bill especially liked hobnobbing with them). Only Jackie Chan, Streisand/Brolin, and that gay psychiatrist from Law and Order SVU are the only Hollywood celebs (plus two musicians, Herbie Hancock and Yo Yo Ma). More nominal Republicans (George Schultz, Scowcroft, Huntsman, etc.) than Hollywood celebrities? You’d never see that at a Clinton state dinner.
I’d take a look at the others listed here. Curious about who some of these people are.
did obambi give hu a iPad with all his speaches on it?
"No worries, but thanks for asking", says Babawa Swinesand from her private jet.

And don't forget to buy electric hybrids. They will save the planet. What's that? The plug-in electricity is provided by fossil fuel?
Yeah, whatever. Where's my damn cocktail? Do I have to fire some peasant again? WTH?! I'm running out of Vermouth and my 1000 count Egyptian napkin has a spot on it. And can somebody please tell me where my damn seamstress is? - I have a loose thread! THAT'S IT, I'M LEAVING! Security dude, get the pilot.
