Rancor prompts resignations in Arizona
Los Angeles Times ^ | January 18, 2011 | Kim Murphy reporting from Phoenix

Posted on 01/18/2011 4:33:05 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Three Republican Party district officials step down, citing increasing venom from conservative 'tea party' rivals.

....At a campaign meeting in Kingman, a man formed his fingers into the shape of a gun and pointed at Anthony. Then in Lake Havasu, somebody spoke up as Miller walked into the room.

"This old guy says, 'There's Anthony. Get a rope.' I turned around and said, 'If you get a rope, get one for you and get one for me too,' " Miller recalled.

But the heat really turned up during an election for the 20th Legislative District's leadership board, when Miller and a group of fellow McCain supporters came under fire from conservative "tea partyers" within the district.

The rancor had no racial overtones but it "just got awful," Miller said.

When Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot Jan. 8 in Tucson, Miller's wife begged him to step down. Two other district officials from the moderate faction joined him.

"I love the Republican Party, but I don't want to take a bullet for anyone," Miller said.

[snip]

Miller..is starting a political action committee to help young people go into politics, was a Democrat who joined the Republican Party in 1995.

"I catch it from the African American community, the Democrat side. I caught it in '08 because I supported Sen. McCain over President Obama. And I catch it from the so-called conservative side of the Republican Party, because I supported Sen. McCain and they feel he's not conservative enough and I'm not conservative enough," Miller said.

...."Sorry today my wife asked me do I think my PCs [precinct committee members] will kill me. I am done," Miller texted to a committee associate. "I am done."

"These people are crazy," he said. "If somebody's that mad at you, who knows what they could do?"...

Gutless wusses heading for the tall grass. They were never really committed to conservative values if this is all it takes to make them bug out.

“We need a new party.
The Republican party sells us out on a regular basis, and it’s getting old.”

What do you think this article is about? We’re getting it, once office at a time, but quite quickly overall.

Old news, but the actions are disgusting and cowardly nonetheless.

Both parties are pushing out to their extremes.

We need a new party.

What a naive, amateur statement. You don't think your "new" party will eventually get infiltrated with some gutless wonders?

Every political party needs continuous maintenance. If you are not up to the task, be quiet.

RINO rats desert the party just before the battle. They know whats coming, and the contest will be fierce, and whats more, the people will win it.The people are inherenntly conservative and want the consitution resecured. They have had ebough of Obama and his ministrations of liberal fascism.

The fact that the RINOs desert is a good thing, it merely strenghthens the GOP.

*Sigh.

Stories like this, printed almost weekly by someone in the liberal media, are done to get this reaction.

Think about it, the liberals have nothing to talk about, they’ve accomplished nothing, their control of Congress was a disaster, the President they convinced people to vote for has hurt America, so the liberals in the media *MUST* find a way to keep conservatives on the defense. The way they do that is to print these stories, week after week, recycled from one liberal news organization to the next, citing “anonymous” sources claiming the republicans are in an uproar and conservatives are divided. It’s been going on for as long as I can remember.

Don’t buy into it.

Here’s the takeaway:

Tea Party = “These people are crazy”

That’s the whole point of the driveby’s hitjob. It’s an old saw and right out of the communist playbook. They do all the killing, but we’re crazy and dangerous.

How many people did David Koresh kill?
How many did Clinton and his posse kill?

Lies, lies and more lies to keep the sheeple from looking behind the curtain.

The Republican party sells us nout on a regular basis, and it’s getting old.

True, but it looks like a good purge can make some progress.

Can I write "purge" or is that too heated and vitriolic?
