“And now the RINO Peter King has joined Bloomberg with his gun control meme.”

I was a bit surprised by Peter King on this.

Maybe I’m overlooking something here, but it just seems to me that someone whose main intent is killing people is not going to be terribly worried about being in violation of a law that prohibits being within 1,000 feet of a government official. This is another example of members of congress getting hysterical and feeling the need to pass just any kind of legislation no matter how nonsensical it is.

You know what we understand out here in la-la land where we carry this country on our backs? Where we have something called “common sense” that the Ruling Elite do NOT have?

We know that some people are nuts. We know that there’s a line, a line where common sense tells us, us boobs and rubes raising the soldiers and citizens of tomorrow, should not be crossed. We “get” that a certain amount of danger is just a fact of life.

We might agree to stop texting while driving, we bristle a bit when told we must use headphones while cell talking, we rise like a mighty monster when they suggest that we shouldn’t use our cell phone at all in a car. We know that now no cell phone, soon NO talking at all.

The liberals, and the RINOS reaching across the aisle, and the Media needing a reason to make themselves important, all have to chatter on about locking up people who “seem” not right and again, us boobs know that this is kind of unrealistic.

I read all about Loughner, not that I don’t have a life or anything, but yeah, he was weird but I’ve yet to see anything that should have had him put away and throw away the key. At least in public, Lord knows what his parents knew.

Still, we can’t just lock up people who say oddball things or do oddball stuff. We do GET that this is risky, just a little. For once in a blue moon some dolt will get a gun, which he probably should not have gotten, and go kill a bunch of people.

We let the Bradys pass silly gun laws but today a new gun law just won’t fly. We GET this.

As for blaming the bad influence of talk shows and Sarah Palin, heh....they just need to talk, make themselves sound important.

We who carry this country on our backs, we ain’t gonna buy it.

Best thing we’ll get outta this is the way they show themselves as a minority trying to force its will on everyone, as folks who consider a “Mmeorial” a pep ralley, and with Obamer, heh, not benefitting a whit from it all even though the WH did its best to orchestrate the whole meme.

It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I took that as a slam against Obama.

I wasn’t very impressed by Pawlenty frankly. He got caught deer in headlights over that cigarette tax thing. He’s all bragging how he, like Christie, told the straight truth about Mn. finances but he did raise the tax on a pack of cigarettes by .75, calling it a “health impact fee”.

Hey, I know beating on ciggie smokers is all the rage and all politicos do it. Soon we shall hang ciggie smokers on the cross along the nation’s Interstates and the citizens will smile as it’s what they deserve.

But Pawlenty went along with it so he’s just another politico as I see it.

Good morning all!

Popping in just briefly. Johnnie - all the best to you and EC - - please tell her hi for me (we used to have some fun discussions here!)

“Also, did I hear Brit mention that the Republicans are going to co-mingle at the SOTU gathering? Tomorrow will have to be a Call your Congressman day for me.”

An article on this on Michelle Malkin’s site: http://michellemalkin.com/2011/01/15/bipartisan-seating-at-the-state-of-the-union/

Quotable line from the above article: “Craftsman doesn’t churn out as many tools as Congress.” LOL!

FR thread here:http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2657020/posts

Hillbuzz has a thread on this, too:
They indicated that so far, no R Congress critter has signed on/agreed to the ‘bipartisan’ seating. Those who signed the letter so far are as follows (per Sister Toldjah) (5 R Senators - of course, Snowe & McCain are included):

Senate signers are as follows: Sen. Begich (D-Alaska), Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif), Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Sen. Kristen Gilibrand (D-N.Y.), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), and Udall for the Democrats and Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alska, and Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Alaska) for the Republicans. In the House, all nine signers are Democrats.

Best,
SC

If the old adage that says “timing is everyting” is true, then enter Governor Sarah Palin, the energy expert. “Drill, baby, drill” and “Mine, baby, mine”! Jobs, jobs, job, and lower fuel costs. Like you said, let the liberals defend the soaring costs.

Bravo! dear Bray.

Pray for our Republic and also for Sarah Palin and her precious family.

In case’s like that we keep lighting fires under their butts until they are so scared of us they start voting the country first and get along to go along last.

Thanks onyx and that is why both sides are terrified of her. She represents the collapse of their religion to control the masses. Liberalism is the opiate of the Godless.

I’m with you, Altura. Christie may be too liberal for us, but his forth-rightness is invigorating! Sometimes I catch myself thinking we could use him and his straight talk, common sense in the White House, which he might easily win
in this climate. We’d need to increase seats in both houses to reign him in if he had any liberal ideas.

I took that as a slam against Obama.

It certainly does apply to obama's case, but Christie was pretty subtle if he was hoping most would make the connection.

Guests on Howie Kurtz' Unreliable sources on CNN were out to get Palin unmercifully.

David Frum:Palin has the right to give her opinion but no to say anything dumb. He's self righteous rino know it all.

You don't think resigning as Gov was not the smartest thing she ever did?

In her shoes would you rather your family go bankrupt from defending against endless frivolous lawsuits loopholes in Alaskan civil law permit against the governor—or become not only wealthy but the most powerful and influential Republican outside the SCOTUS or the House leadership in the world?

Don't know about you but I think being called a “quitter” by liberals and RINOs is a tiny price to pay.
Not since Reagan has such a principled conservative been smeared so much.

Of course ABC edited that part out completely.

So is that "official"? They did NOT show the outburst by Fuller? Can I start screaming about ABC's selective reporting with confidence?

It was absolutely the right thing to do, but you can count on one hand the number of “her allies” who thought it was strategically the right move.

http://www.northjersey.com/news/politics/011611_Christie_denies_2012_presidential_bid_in_Fox_interview.html

Here is the quote from Christie in the interview: “I don’t think you run just because political opportunity is there, that’s how we end up with politicians who aren’t prepared for their jobs.”

Sarah Palin was very good at her job as Governor, so don’t think the jab was at her. However, Obama did jump on a political opportunity, and according to Christies comments on O’s performance, is not really prepared to handle some things (economy, healthcare, etc.).

Sure, she should have waited for Kraut and Williams to state their outrage at attacking Sarah and the Tea Party vilification. This is another reason they hate her, she will get in the ring w/them.

Pray for America
