The Glock 17 is simply an updated John Moses Browning design.

Obviously you have never held, much less ever shot a 1911. There are absolutely zero similarities between the Glock and 1911 actions.

As for the Glock plastic frame concept and the use of a polygonal barrel in a pistol, it was developed in Germany by Heckler & Koch.

You couldn't hope to knock anyone unconscious by hitting them with a Glock, nor could you even entertain the notion of doing anything like this to one of your disposable Bic handguns:
