“I’m still trying to figure out what “Together we thrive” has to do with anything.”

Sounds like a campaign slogan. Very tacky and out of place at this somber occasion. How much did someone get paid for coming up with it??

I’m doing some searching of the term “Together we thrive”. So far I’ve come up with library grants and a social change website.

I would bet money that this is (or was) the campaign slogan for 2012, with the word "Tucson" substituted for "Obama." Otherwise, it's a pretty short turnaround to develop and focus-group a slogan, design a logo, and get T-shirts printed. Depend on it: this was all ready to go beforehand, except for "Tucson."
