Poor Illinois. It's taken over the mantle as the state that everyone thinks is the most screwed.
Faced with a monster budget gap, the state Senate just passed a monster 66% hike in the state income tax.
The news has governors or other states gleeful.
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels said today that the tax hike was good for... Indiana
And during his State of the State address, New Jersey governor Chris Christie held up Illinois as a state that was going in the wrong direction.

The socialist states like Ill. Cal. and NY. Are going to have to build walls to keep the few people with redistributable assets from fleeing. A redistributable asset is becoming scarce in these areas. I remember the movie “Escape from New York”.

Boeing moved their corporate HQ to Chicago because it centralized its operations. Boeing does more than just build commercial airplanes. There’s like five divisions scattered around the US and the world. It felt that being basically in the center of the US it shortened a lot of communication lines.
