I don’t think the kids (which likely were in their 40’s or 50’s) came back.

There’s only two nights that person(s) unknown could have been at the Wheeler home - the 28th and 29th.

We need a bone to chew on - we need someone to release the exact time and date Wheeler got into Wilmington.

I still have a gut feeling that the Dills expected their kids to clean up after themselves and it really wasn't necessary for the Dills to go over and clean up after them...that doesn't even make sense if they were all grown up.

Remember, the neighbor said it was boistrous over there...not the same thing as just a radio being on......

And Dill wasn't too upset when he saw the window open on the evening of the 29th...he waited until the next day to take care of it...

I think that PERHAPS Jack came home to a wrecked out house...a house that the Dills had NOT yet checked.

They said "BROKEN DISHES" (plural) in the sink. "Guests would leave them there...An owner would get them out of the house and into the rubbish.

I'm having trouble with the Dill scenario because in early interviews...it was never mentioned that he took Jack to the Post Office first (or at all) where Jack picked up a BIG box..., never mentioned that Dills kids were at the house, never mentioned that he called Jack and Jack's wife (He called Jack's wife at the wrong number at first). So why did Dill call Jack once and her twice??

This seems to be correct: Jack arrived in Wilmington about 9 AM on the 29th.
