The unseemly rush to blame Sarah Palin, the Tea Party and Republicans for murder in Arizona
Daily Telegraph ^ | January 9, 2011 | Toby Harnden

Posted on 01/09/2011 2:25:48 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Paul Krugman of the “New York Times” suggests darkly that Giffords was shot because she was “a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona” and “violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate” (those reponsible for such a climate being, of course, Republicans).

[snip]

Jane Fonda pins it on Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and the Tea Party.

Even the local sheriff (a Democrat) has been getting in on the act. Sheriff Clarence Dupnik (a Democrat) said:

"When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous. And, unfortunately, Arizona I think has become sort of the capital. We have become the Mecca for prejudice and bigotry."

[snip]

what are the facts we know so far? From what we know about Loughner, he was a deeply disturbed young man who railed about literacy rates, spoke of flag burning and creating a new currency.

Former classmates talk of “nonsensical outbursts” and a person “on his own planet”. ....My colleague Jon Swaine has a summary here of the raving of a person who most people would judge to be a complete nutcase even if he hadn’t gone out and shot people.

Oh, and another former classmate said he was “left wing, quite liberal”. .................

[snip]

This is highly inconvenient for certain people on the Left so they ignore it. They would much prefer the shooter to have been a white male in his 50s, the description the sheriff gave of a second person of interest (we’ll see if such a person materialises) but they’ll still try to make hay with a weirdo like Loughner.

I'm sure ALL Rino's on today's Sunday shows will be doing their homework (HELLO) and providing this in Sarah's/conservatives/Tea Party defense./s

Didn’t he also say, during the campaign, to get in the faces of those who disagree with us?

I just noticed this morning that some liberal 'friends' are still passing along (and encouraging others to share) these BS stories on Facebook blaming the religious right and Palin for this... I just posted this to one's wall.

Pete, it is pretty disgusting that you would be passing along the false story linking this guy to the 'religious right', especially in light of the fact that now it has come out that he was as far from the 'religious right' as you can get- ...an atheist who listed his favorite book as the Communist manifesto and his friends and band-mates described him as a 'left wing pot head'. It is also funny you used the Daily KOS as a source considering just two days prior to this, a KOS member 'BlueBoy' was making threats against Giffords for voting against Pelosi and saying Giffords was 'too conservative'. If I were less of a person, I could pass along stories linking this guy to President Obama's hateful rhetoric when he said things like "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun....I want you to get in their faces..” and bring up all the left wing violent radicals like Bill Ayers, the unibomber, the discovery channel shooter, the IRS plane guy... But I won't because every individual has a choice and this guy was a nut. It is no more fair to blame the 'religious right' for every nut as it would be to blame the 'left'. It is the choice of individuals.

"In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable—what then?"
George Orwell, Nineteen Eighty-Four

Just like “global warming” aka “global climate change” aka “climate distruption.”

Here is a link to an article almost a year ago which refutes the "crosshairs" allegation.

Neither Beck nor Rush go there.

Violence and hate talk comes from the Left.

Beck say’s to be wary about being drawn in by their baiting.

From what I’ve seen of this guy’s writings, he’s probably what doctors call a paranoid schizophrenic. Politics have little or nothing to do with his problems.

The obsession with Sarah Palin on the left is really scary.

I honestly fear for her life and her family at this point.

Seems the Houston Chronicle does not want to say anything about this libtard’s leftist leanings. They dance all around the issue. Hmmm, another media white wash?

I think anyone “targeting” her or her family is in for a very rude “awakening”.

This guy was obviously on a suicide mission.

I frankly think there are a lot of crazy people who would gladly give their lives if they could take out Sarah Palin in the process.

A lot of them are journalists.

>> True. But will the apolitical middle get it? How many will venture beyond the headlines?

Exactly. The Media is trying desperately to diffuse the fact this guy was a Left-wing nutjob and somehow make the Right responsible.

According to the reports, it seems Nancy Pelosi had greatest political influence over this guy. Does that make Pelosi responsible?
