Md. State Police shoot, kill man with swords

Maryland State Police say they have shot and killed a Cecil County man who confronted state troopers with swords and what appeared to be guns.
Police say 25-year-old Jason E. Honaker of Elkton was shot and killed in the incident Friday night. He was taken to a hospital in Wilmington, Del., but died of his injuries.
Police say Honaker called state police and said he would kill his neighbor if officers didn't come to his apartment. Two officers responded and Honaker confronted them with a two-foot sword and what appeared to be a rifle. It was actually an air rifle.

For a while people were making
sword-gun combos. IIRC, they were never very popular, and pretty much disappeared with the invention of the bayonet.
