Good grief, I would think Palin has more important things to worry about than what some nutjobs say about her on twitter. She shouldn't waste her time responding to that nonsense.

Respectfully I disagree. It is not about responding to nutjobs. Sarah has chosen an unconventional and 'new media' approach to here career and perhaps her campaign. She Tweets regularly. Some expression of sadness over these events would be more than appropriate. I guarantee that you will hear discussions on the mainstream media outlets about that 'Target' ad, if for no other reason than to continue to discredit her.

If she were not active in the new media I would agree with you, but that is the way she has chosen. She needs to post.

Boehner Condemns Attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords

Washington (Jan 8)
Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement condemning the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and members of her staff today in Tucson, AZ:

“I am horrified by the senseless attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and members of her staff.  An attack on one who serves is an attack on all who serve.  Acts and threats of violence against public officials have no place in our society.  Our prayers are with Congresswoman Giffords, her staff, all who were injured, and their families.  This is a sad day for our country."

She is Jewish. Don’t have any indication as to motive, but this may be worth mentioning.

Somethings always going to snap. Never know when or what or if its natural or DOS. Lots of people hate us and would love to see us go belly-up.

War is hell. So are computer systems. If it can go wrong it will.

OUR FREEP-A-THON IS OPEN FOR YOUR DONATIONS AND PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING MONTHLY!

THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR LOYAL SUPPORT! FREEPERS ROCK!!!!

Briefing at the bottom of the hour. Thank GOD she is still alive. Praying HARD for this lady whose politics, at this moment, I don’t give a DAMN about. Hard, fervent prayers for this lady and the others injured and all of their loved ones, who must be going through hell right now.

All other details will become clear in time.

What a horrible, HORRIBLE thing to have happened. This is NOT what America should be.

Pray for the congresswoman.....AND for this country.

Fox say US Capitol Police just sent an email to all representatives...(paraphrase) all members of Congress are advised to take measures concerning security both at the Capitol and at home...

My guess is if this is politically motivated, it has something to do with the issue of immigration, as it’s the hottest and most emotional political issue in AZ, and she was strong on protecting the borders.

“My sincere condolences are offered to the family of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims of today’s tragic shooting in Arizona.

On behalf of Todd and my family, we all pray for the victims and their families, and for peace and justice.

- Sarah Palin”

Dear God, I join Sarah in her prayers. Amen....

less than a month after she gave this statement regarding the death of our BP agent:

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords today issued the following statement on the murder of Border Patrol agent Brian A. Terry, who was shot and killed Tuesday after he encountered several suspects near Rio Rico, Ariz.

I am deeply saddened by the senseless murder of Agent Brian Terry, who was killed in the line of duty while protecting our nation’s borders.

This is a tragedy that deserves nothing less than the swiftest and strongest response. It is a stark reminder that our borders are not yet secure. The full efforts of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies are focused on bringing to justice all those involved.

What additional tragedies must Southern Arizonans endure before my colleagues in Congress and the Obama administration address this crisis with the full weight of our resources? We must act and we must act now.

The deployment of the National Guard must be extended. Additional Border Patrol agents must be dispatched to the border. And we must make smarter decisions about how technology can assist in meeting this vast challenge.

While boots on the ground are critical, they are not enough. All those responsible for securing our border must be fully equipped with the resources they need to get the job done — forward operating bases, unmanned aerial systems and electronic surveillance.

While there have been some small measures of progress in securing the border, Agent Terry’s murder and the still-unsolved slaying of rancher Robert Krentz on his land in Cochise County in March are painful reminders that much more remains to be done.

Drugs and violence along the border continue to pose significant challenges for our nation. The Tucson Sector of the Border Patrol, to which Agent Terry was assigned, must be the focus for national enforcement efforts. It is responsible for almost 50 percent of the drug seizures by the entire Border Patrol nationwide.

Mexico is a nation at war. Battles between drug cartels and the government have led to the killing of more than 28,000 people in Mexico in the last four years since President Felipé Calderon declared war on the drugs cartels. That drug violence has come across our border and directly impacted our way of life.

We must not relent in our efforts to make Southern Arizona safe. Ranchers and other residents must be able to live on their land and in their homes and work in their businesses without fear. Law enforcement officers protecting our citizens must not be threatened by vicious criminals who enter our country illegally.

I salute the resolute work of the brave men and women of the Border Patrol and the other agencies that work every day to protect our borders. And I offer my heartfelt condolences to the Terry family for their profound personal loss. Our commitment to them must be evident in our determination to bring to justice every person involved in this horrific crime.

Prayers up for her and all involved. I saw her on FOX yesterday promoting a pay cut for all in Congress. I see also she is pro-border enforcement.

God bless her....
