These garbage men really stink.

Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts -- a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.

Details at the link on the specific orders that were given to the union drivers by their bosses. It’s criminal.

Union bosses should be held responsible for the death of the baby as well as any other health hardship to the people.

criminal charges should be filed...

Unions in the private sector (and even moreso in the Public Sector) or now functionally no more than organized-crime syndicates, extorting money from taxpayers, and funneling it to themselves and favored politicians.

There is NO WAY that it should be legal for these organizations to buy legislators that take taxpayer money and funnel it to their members, OR to funnel it to those who vote for their handouts. The exhorbitant pay, benefits, and their gold-plated retirement plans have driven most businesses off-shore, where the wages and benefits can allow competitive production. In the case of Government Unions, the extortion is running rampant, and cities, states, and nationally we are bankrupted by the sqeeze of tax-funded payouts.

RICO laws.

Convict all union members and bosses. Strip them of pensions and benefits, and jail time.

We need to start using RICO against unions and politicians.

Can charges be filed against the union of some sort.

First victims who may have needed emergency services that died or became disabled,

The city for literal breach of contract with intent to cause harm,

These were indeed criminal actions, premeditated criminal actions with intent to cause harm. Jail time is in order and not just for the union bosses, but for the idiots who followed the orders!!! Common sense & decency told them this was wrong.

"Blood is on the hands of the sanitation union bosses and the drivers"

Doesn't matter - it's their way of life; earning three times the wages of the average taxpayer that foots the bill and holding their host in contempt.

I've been watching the network morning shows this morning. They've been really heavy on the NYC blizzard news. This morning ABC and NBC have totally ignored the union story. CBS gave it a 20 second mention.

Go figger.

Take a page out of Reagan’s book. After the PATCO strike, he fired the lot of them.

There are plenty of people out there who would be happy to take a nice steady well-paying job as a garbage hauler in New York City.

Anyone know if private citizens could file a class action suit against any union that participated in a slowdown?

It certainly seems that way, if this story is true.

Indeed times are hard and the city could very easily replace the criminal union

This NYC story has national implication. I think it would behoove the House Pubbies to look into this with hearings and subpoeae.

I second the motion for House Hearings on this. Let’s show some guts in the House. Let’s stand up for the American people? What say you, Republican Party House members?

In the meantime I think it would be a good idea for folks to plan to take care of themselves, family, friends, and neighbors. Have an action plan in place for events like this. The plan might not covery every contingency, but it would beat the heck out of waiting for some government agency to rescue you.

The sanitation union leaders could be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of the baby.
