President Barack Obama's adviser on Muslim affairs, Dalia Mogahed, has provoked controversy by appearing on a British television show hosted by a member of an extremist group to talk about Sharia Law. Miss Mogahed, appointed to the President's Council on Faith-Based and Neighbourhood Partnerships, said the Western view of Sharia was "oversimplified" and the majority of women around the world associate it with "gender justice".
The White House adviser made the remarks on a London-based TV discussion programme hosted by Ibtihal Bsis, a member of the extremist Hizb ut Tahrir party. The group believes in the non-violent destruction of Western democracy and the creation of an Islamic state under Sharia Law across the world...
During the 45-minute discussion, on the Islam Channel programme Muslimah Dilemma earlier this week, the two members of the group made repeated attacks on secular "man-made law" and the West's "lethal cocktail of liberty and capitalism"....
She said: "I think the reason so many women support Sharia is because they have a very different understanding of sharia than the common perception in Western media....
The video of the broadcast has now been prominently posted on the front page of Hizb ut Tahrir's website. Miss Mogahed, who was born in Egypt and moved to America at the age of five, is the first veiled Muslim woman to serve in the White House. Her appointment was seen as a sign of the Obama administration's determination to reach out to the Muslim world....
During this week's broadcast, she described her White House role as "to convey... to the President and other public officials what it is Muslims want."...

Know all I need to know about Shari’ah law, AnnointedIdiot.
Me’thinks someone needs to shove it up your political correct apostate arse..... =.=
So I guess those pictures of women getting stoned or honor killings are just “misunderstandings” as well...
Yes. Of course. Just more misunderstanding of poor little Muzlims. Stoning and honor killings are “gender justice.” Also: black is white, up is down. And these ravings get reported as if they had some connection with reality.
Apparently this creature thinks most women find that to be “gender justice”.
Whatever that means.
It reflects his beliefs.
Does anyone ever think to ask an arab muslim in an interview what they think about black people?
Nonie Darwish is a lady born in Egypt with quite a different outlook on Shariah law.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Precisely how well acquainted is she with Sharia? How firm a grasp does she have on what it is like to live under that law?
Would her views be different if she had lived under Sharia her entire life, rather than having been protected by US law?
Wonder how many women in Muslim countries would trade places with her?
Let me give you a discussion topic: “Shari’ah is effing evil.” Discuss
I learned all I need to know about Mooselimbs on 11 September, 2001.
This is one of those occasions when the effort to manufacture common ground between radical Muslims and American leftists becomes rather strained. No matter. Any and all lies are permissible in the war against the great enemy.
Your tax dollars at work. Just curious. Does Obozo have an advisor on Christian affairs? Or Jewish affairs? Or Mormon affairs?
Why in hell are we using tax dollars for a practicing Muslim to advise Obama on Muslim affairs?
This is sedition. And if soetoro believes this ridiculous nonsense he should be impeached!
She is certainly free to pack up her duds and go swap them for full burkhas and live under Sharia law; only not here. The people who voted for “Hopey Changey” certainly opened Pandora’s Box with warning bells and lights going off all over the place. - I think he will now try to become “Reagan” incarnated in word, but not deed, except under duress in order to have another 4 yrs. to do all the damage he can.
