Americans Look For A Return To Values

The (Midterm) election is over, and its results leave no doubt that the American people want change. But correctly gauging just what that means will be key to the success of the new Congress and government at every level. Certainly people want Washington's policies to help support and encourage economic recovery, but for most Americans, it's not just about dollars and cents.
The sweeping anti-incumbent attitude and desire for change that characterized this election were not the result of an American people divided neighbor against neighbor, or red vs. blue. Where there is division is between a united American people and many of those in this nation's institutions including politics whose values are outside the American mainstream.
Let's start with what the American people don't want. They don't want a reinvention of this country. They are not looking for something that is simply new or radical in a way that departs from traditional American values.
What they do want, more than anything else is a return to this country's moral core the same moral core supported by an overwhelming number of Americans.(Excerpt) Read more at investors.com ...
