Vick electrocuted dogs and snapped their necks. Does anyone believe for even a fraction of a second that obama would have called an owner to say the the same thing if the quarterback was white?
Anyone?

Stop throwing the “racist” label around just to shut off debate. Attacking other posters personally goes against forum rules. Thank you.
Hey TSgt, why don’t you just “come out” and say “I’m Black, and I see everything through the prism of skin color, just like my President.” Anyone who would do what Michael Vick did is a very sick individual. The point others have been trying to make is that certain types of behavior don’t go away with a little time behind bars. I have an erstwhile friend who was certain that OJ was innocent “because he was a sports figure.” The OJ jury was just like you and your president. Innocent by reason of skin color.

I swear to God if we had a court system which had “Not Guilty by Reason of Skin Color” instead of “Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity” a healthy percenatage of the population would go right along.
Scary what this nation has come to from MLK’s “I have a dream” speech.
I’m not black. I’m very Caucasian however I know racism when I see it.
I also know ignorance like comparing dog fighting with child rape.
I would respond more on this thread but Red in Blue PA would just cry to the moderator.
So why bother debating if you can’t?
I showed you an article in which Vick specifically said dog fighting was part of the black culture.
And yet you call me racist when I say the same thing!
While I agree that animal cruelty is a proving ground for more horrible evils in the future, (that in itself proves that pedophilia is a greater evil) your statement in which someone chooses animal cruelty or pedophilia as their evil is based on who or what is available at said time of such offense doesn't logically make sense. Can you state evidence to that fact?
I didnt say anything about the morality of Obama calling Lurie. I just said why Obama called him and not the Broncos owner. Obama wouldnt have called to congratulate Lurie for giving Vick a 2nd chance if the Eagles were in last. The Redemption Story narrative only works if the subject becomes victorious.
It is true but it is hard for men to forgive and forget. Vick needs to prove to God that he has changed for the better and to become an example of his conversion. From a mere human's standpoint, so far, I haven't heard anything bad about him (faking it, falling off the wagon, etc...) since his conviction.
Then increase the sentence. If you release someone from jail, their punishment should be completed. If you feel that they still need punishment, then keep them in jail.
For the rest of us (skeptics?), we are admonished to know each other by their fruits.
Because people dont congratulate losers for overcoming personal issues.
His fiancee knew about it and stayed with him?? She’s just as bad-guess she didn’t want to give up that payday...shame.
Obama say felons don’t have a level playing field for jobs. How many felons are on his S.S. detail-or mopping the floors at the W.H. for that matter. The federal government that he heads requires a background check on virtually every job applicant-good luck getting hired there if you’re a jailbird. Another liberal hypocrite who wants the rest of us to jeopardize our lives/businesses/property in a way he wouldn’t consider doing himself. As for Vick, such gross and egregious inhumanity deserves neither redemption nor absolution-so let’s hold the applause.
