Unbelievable. I can’t believe how much stuff is being passed these last couple weeks. They have passed more recently than the last two years and that is with a huge amount of Republicans assisting. No wonder the papers are calling Obama “The comeback kid”. Is it any wonder with the Republicans working with Obama. Obama did not work with the Republicans at all but the Republicans sure are working with him. The last treaty was with George HW Bush in 1991. Not sure if it was good or bad.

The usual useful idiots in the Republican party. Is anyone surprised? I’m so glad Voinovich is retiring, but, he’s done enough damage in his outgoing.

Good riddance!

"Is it any wonder with the Republicans working with Obama."

I guess some Repubs are going for the bipartisanship demographic. /s Plus, a lot of Repubs feel this is the only time they will get their "ideological" legislation passed and still remain under the cover of a democrat majority (For answering to their constituencies).

I blame the republicans. We all knew the Senate would be our downfall. Most likely this kind of treachery will assure we have no win in 2012.

This was a rushed treaty, ill-conceived, weakens our defense, and one in a series that America will one day come to regret.

We have gone from 30,000 warheads in 1970 down to 5,000 in 2010.

China's nukes...aren't even counted. They could have any number of them. Estimates range from 200 to (my own) 30,000. And they're buying COBALT. (Think: Dirty bombs. Bombs that--when they hit America--we can't come back outside to farm or for a long period of time--for the first 6 years.)

WHAT A MISTAKE YOU HAVE MADE, AMERICA!

Whatever happened to oderint dum metuant? (Let them hate us, as long as they fear us.)

While we're busy counting Russian nukes...the Chinese have had--what?--40 years to build theirs.

After 40 years, America had already buiilt 30,000 warheads!

Traitors. The Republicans who voted for it have got to go. And the treaty has got to be reversed.

That can be done, although it is awkward and time consuming. We don’t want to be known as a country that keeps changing its mind about treaty obligations, either. But the alternative is worse, to be known as a country of cowardly wimps who can be forced to back down by anyone who takes the trouble to threaten us.
