>Among the world’s most respected figures is South Africa’s Bishop Desmond Tutu.<
.
Respected by whom?
They asked Ronald Reagan what he thought of Bishop Tutu after having had a meeting with him.
RR’s reply: So so.
Agreed. He seems to be a "legendary world authority" only in the minds of the mainstream media. Exactly why would the rest of us care what the former episcopilian archbishop of Cape Town has to say? He is no position of power and when he was a "religious authority", it was a rather obscure position (there are 2.4 million Anglicans in South Africa, out of an estimated population of 45 million total). Does the media issue breathtaking regular updates about the former coptic orthodox archbishop of Egypt has to say about world events?
Desmond Tutu is a media creation, like Colin Powell.
