The way I see it is if DADT is repealed the military should go back to the old rules. Repealing DADT should not mean a gay can openly serve. Then again, that’s assuming our politicians have brains.

Exactly that is why we need to see the law... Before DADT you were not allowed to serve in the military if you were gay and you were admin discharged if you came out because you were asked. The DADT was to conform to allow closeted members the ability to never fear being asked if you were gay... i.e., I on a security clearance form it used to ask if you were homosexual or every practiced that type of sex if you said yes you could not get the clearance after DADT they took the question off same with the entry questions that the recruiter asked. they just stopped asking...

Nobody ever said you could volunteer the information that may be the issue here... The sodomy is still against the UCMJ. Gay sex is sodomy.
