A GOP freshman needled incoming House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) on Thursday, questioning whether Cantor's 2011 schedule allows for too much time off for lawmakers.

In an unusual power play move by a freshman, Rep.-elect Allen West (R-Fla.) wrote to Cantor to inquire why House lawmakers aren't planning to spend more time in Washington.

Congressman should work less.

I like West, but he needs to understand that Congress is supposed to be part-time.

West is the best!

I hope he’s blessed with a rock solid career.

True, keep them out of Washington as much as possible. The less time they are there, the less time they have to screw things up.

Over the course of time, they have worked far too many hours. Get them out of DC.

Let them repeal Obamacare and go home.

Amen, the less Congress is in session the less damage they can do.

two on, one off better not wreak havoc with the hearings schedule. For that I wouldn’t mind this being a full-time Congress.

As Rush astutely pointed out several times. The Democrats have not changed their Congressional Leadership. But neither have the Republicans.

I wish the Congressional Republicans would stop worrying so much about what their opponents and enemies think of them. Look at the Democrats! They couldn’t care less what their opponents think of them, and they’ve run that place for 4 years.

Good to see someone exerting some leadership. The Liberal RINO GOP “Leadership” is going to get some lessons in leadership from LTC (Ret) West.

Congress is not a part-time job...not when they are paid 170K and their expenses.

Its time for the GOP to stop acting like Democrats

Count me in with you. Go West!!

The old canard of keeping them out of Washington use to work, until two years of Marxists working full time to destroy the country.

For Pete’s sake we need to be there working with an army of new conservatives full time and overtime to have even a prayer of reversing or defunding anything! Does anybody care about that? We are faced with a show down of unbelievable proportion against a takeover of our Republic and it is going to take manpower that is ready, willing and able to show the heck up 24/7 to make a dent in what is being done to us.

Sorry, but I can’t imagine anyone who has a clue or who knows West that wouldn’t be cheering his ability for political combat that needs to begin on January 2.

They have alot of repealing to do.

Yes, decades worth.

They need to repeal tons of repugnant socialist claptrap and force Obama to veto it. It will either make him look bad...or force him to let it go through.
