Omaha Steaks Drops Glenn Beck
Omaha Steaks’ ads recently started running on Glenn Beck’s program on Fox News.
As with other advertisers, participants in the StopBeck effort reached out to Omaha Steaks. We kindly requested that they follow the responsible action of hundreds of other former advertisers and refrain from advertising on Glenn Beck’s show.
Well, your efforts paid off.
This morning, Omaha Steaks announced that they were removing their ads from Glenn Beck’s program (emphasis added):
Omaha Steaks buys large units of national television advertising during the holiday season. This year, we bought a package of advertising through the Fox Network. We did not specifically request to be included on the Glenn Beck program. As part of our contract, the Omaha Steaks ads run in a variety of time slots throughout the day.
We took your comments regarding the Glenn Beck Program to heart. After further review and careful consideration, we have decided to pull all advertising from Glenn Beck programming effective December 20th, 2010. Unfortunately, due to advertising cancellation policies, we were bound to continue possible ad placements through Sunday, December 19th.
At Omaha, we greatly value the loyalty and support of our customers, fans and followers and thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Here we see another advertiser stepping up and taking the responsible action. Don’t dismiss these actions, they are important steps as we continue to gear up for our broader DropFox accountability effort.

Good question. I’ve rarely listened to Beck’s show in over a year, so I don’t know the answer.
My theory is that If the oceans do rise and inundate New York City and Los Angeles and it is proved such was due to Cow Farts for me it will be the Ultimate Proof that: "there is indeed a God in Heaven and that he does have a plan..." ;-)
They figured out all of Beck’s viewers like their steak freeze dried and packaged in backpacks for quick relocation.

We felt that advertising on the Glenn Beck Program could be mis-interpreted as an endorsement of Mr. Beck’s political views. Since Omaha Steaks has no affiliation with Mr. Beck, nor do we ever endorse any political affiliations, views or beliefs, we felt it was in our best interest to discontinue these ads.

OK, so Omaha Steaks does not believe in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, particularly the part where our Rights are given to us by our Creator? Omaha Steaks does not believe that communities, such as Wilmington, Ohio, should work and pray together when adversity strikes? Instead, they should wait until the Rulers in Washington, DC notice them as send them welfare checks?

That is what I told them in my letter, They did not loose a customer, but they surly will not make me a new customer. Its their money to advertise as they wish, but also its my money to spend on company closer to my values.
Time to cancel my annual gifts of Omaha Steaks!!
Just called Omaha Steaks customer service. Told them to forget gift pack this year.
My guess is most of those who won’t be buying never have in the past. Calling for boycotts to punish these companies end up hurting the employees who work there. Besides, once a person starts down the boycott path, where does it stop? I only refuse to buy from companies who fail to deliver good product and service. A decision I make on my own. Personally, I am a bit put off by knee jerk reactionaries, group mob stuff.
Thanks just sent them an earful...hopefully ALL FREEPERS will begin to take a stand and make wiser purchase decisions.

Omaha Steaks I have a website that gets 400,000+ hits per month and a twitter account with 87,000 connections. I will never buy anything from you again and I will tell all my friends to boycot you for your decision to pull advertising from the Glenn Beck program.

What did Glenn do to warrant such an action? I know he gets a bit animated at times but he always seems to back up his assertions/commentary with research/facts. Omaha Steaks may experience a backlash from such childish behavior. If they’d rather not sell their steaks to Glenn Beck/FoxNews viewers they’re doing a good job of it.
If you don't know why don't you just shut up? You have posted at least 2 times you don't know the answer because you don't listen to Glenn. Sheeeeeesh.
