Why??
It is common in many parts of the country. It is to keep ‘carpetbaggers’ from coming in & getting positions which then influence politics in local events.
Jimmah Carter’s kid, Jack tried to come into Nevada a couple of years back & get elected.
Most of us didn’t even know there was an offspring named Jack....we only knew of Amy.
He got soundly defeated & left his ‘residence’ in Nevada with his tail between his legs.
