Michelle Obama has new warning on obesity

First Lady Michelle Obama plans to warn in remarks Monday that the nation is seeing “a groundswell of support” for curbing childhood obesity, and she is unveiling new ammunition from current and retired military leaders.
“[M]ilitary leaders … tell us that when more than one in four young people are unqualified for military service because of their weight,” the first lady says in prepared remarks, “childhood obesity isn’t just a public health threat, it’s not just an economic threat, it’s a national security threat as well."
The first lady and President Barack Obama are making a rare joint speaking appearance on Monday, at Harriet Tubman Elementary School in Northwest D.C.’s Columbia Heights neighborhood, as he signs into law the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.
From Mrs. Obama’s prepared remarks:
“We can all agree that here in the wealthiest nation on earth, all children should have the basic nutrition they need to learn and grow and pursue their dreams. Because in the end, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our children…and our hopes for their future should drive every decision we make. These are the basic values that we all share. They’re the values that this bill embodies. And that’s why we’ve seen such a groundswell of support for these efforts – not just from Members of Congress here in Washington, but from folks in every corner of the country.

Michelle really has very little going for her. She wants to be somebody and is using government and the force of it to dictate to the masses. She is not elected and never would be. She considers this her impact.
Problem is, Michelle doesn’t practice what she preaches. Fries, burgers, ice cream, fried chicken, lobster w/drawn butter for her.
Bunny food for everyone else.

National Security Threat??
I suppose if Charlie Rangel gets his way and we start drafting fat, gay kids...
and a side of deep-fried Twinkies with that battle cry for her........i bet she’s a secret snacker. if not, she needs something to change her attitude-living on lobster and caviar can make a person grouchy

OMG a threat to national security ? and they dog Palin all the time for things she says ? Seriously how freaking stupid is a statement like that ? I would say her husband and all his socialist/communist/marxist/progressive buddies are a much bigger threat to our national security !
And don’t worry, the military can take that fat off real quick in boot camp !

So that leaves 75% to recruit from and less than 1% actually serve in the military. By my calculation, that leaves a nice 74% buffer ...what’s the problem????
Let’s just be honest here for a minute. This little program has two of the Left’s favorite ploys rolled into one. The old, “...but for the sake of the children” ploy. And naturally, “it’s for national security!”, which has the added benefit of additional executive powers tacked on... if the people buy into it.
Too many of our yooffs are tubby and need more outdoor play and exercise. Some of the weird chemicals in sodas and snack foods are ruining their metabolisms
