Troops who can't accept the idea of overturning the ban on gays in the military should consider leaving the service, says a senior aide to Gen. David Petraeus.
Command Sergeant Major Marvin Hill tells TV One's "Washington Watch" that he believes "the troops are ready" for the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
"If there are people who cannot deal with the change, then they're going to have to do what's best for their troops and best for the organization and best for the military service and exit the military service, so that we can move forward -- if that's the way that we have to go," Hill says in an interview with Roland Martin, scheduled to air Sunday.
Hill says it will be up to military brass to "set the tone" for the rank-and-file in accepting gay service members.
"We know that if there is a change, that that change will have to be led, and it's going to have to be led by senior leaders such as myself and -- and others across the battlefield," Hill says.

Yeah.
I can just see it now......the Sargent Major of the Marine Corps shows up to the Marine Corps Ball all decked out in his Dress Pinks. His pumps polished to a high gloss, to accentuate his highly polished toe nails.
Yeah, Buddy!
Semper Tutu!

I HATE what these bastards are doing to my country!
The goal is to destroy everything that makes America great: family, free markets, free education for all, the work ethic, the all-vounteer military. The sad part is that most of the clowns who advocate this crap don’t even realize that they are just pawns and will be discarded by the progressive elite when the destruction is complete.
I get your point but two things
This goober is in the Army
The Marines were the only branch to officially come out against repealing DADT
When the U.S. government succeeds in making White Christian men a minority of its warriors, they can rule out winning any more wars. But the country will split before that happens.
There is no prohibition against homosexuals serving in the material. So, if that is the primary objective of a homosexual serving in the military, there should be no problem. I would not want to serve surrounded by people whose primary objective was not to be good soldiers and who had that as their primary objective.
What other personal agenda might they put before being a good soldier. Selling military secrets that could get servicemen killed? Suddenly becoming conscientious objectors because they have a moral issue with one assignment?
If this stupid aide has his way, the military will be overrun by those whose primary objective is to announce their sexuality. Brilliant.
What’s Nero doing amid all these flames?
It appears as though bending over and dropping their drawers for the flamers is the number one priority for the boys down at the Brokeback Pentagon right now.
sorry for being so crude about it...
And so the left’s calculated internal destruction of the U.S. armed forces continues apace. ‘Political Correctness’ - actually, leftist ideology codified - has proven to be a much more powerful tool than anyone realized and the left has adroitly used it to their advantage as they chop away at what has made America a great and prosperous nation. Like the late Senator Robert Byrd, I weep for my country, but for wholly different reasons.
>>Hard to believe a Command Sargeant Major said this...
Go to the link and take a look at the photo. You’ll see why this CSM is an Obama worshipper.
Will the DoD rewrite all the troops’ contracts to allow them to leave on 30 days notice after the DADT is repealed?
It seems only ‘fair’ since everyone who volunteered in the last 17 years did so with the understanding that the DADT policy was in effect. Insofar as the recruits knew, and if it was/is important to them, they had the reasonable expectation that the military services would provide them protection from serving in very close circumstances with homosexuals.
If the DoD/Congress removes that protection, they have broken their contract(s) and faith with those recruits.
I wouldn’t enlist if I were 17 again today. No way, no how!
Aid must be a faggot.
Next up, zampolits assigned to each military unit. Weekly political briefings. Anything remotely perceived as critical to the Glorious Leader will first be a career killer, then who knows.
Look up Article 58. Not the one in the UCMJ, the one from the Soviet Union. Solzehnitsen gives some good descriptions in The Gulag Archipeligo.
As for the UCMJ, watch for some outrageous cases where Article 88 becomes extremely flexible.
Shut up, Sergeant Major.
Command Sgt. Maj. Marvin Hill, incoming command sergeant major for International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, talks with Command Sgt. Maj. Darwin Rahder, Task Force Rushmore command sergeant major, about morale, leadership and the overall mission of Task Force Rushmore.

Allowing women to serve in combat was a huge mistake. This is the next logical step.
Mmmm mmmm mmmm
I presume the CSM’s statement has the imprimatur of Gen. Petreaus which apparently means Petreaus is in favor of the fudge packers “joining up”. During my hitch I used to hear “go along to get along” quite often. I never thought it spoke well of leadership. I’d hate to see what my efficiency reports would look like now.
