Petraeus Aide: Soldiers Who Can't Handle DADT Repeal Should Leave Service

Troops who can't accept the idea of overturning the ban on gays in the military should consider leaving the service, says a senior aide to Gen. David Petraeus.

Command Sergeant Major Marvin Hill tells TV One's "Washington Watch" that he believes "the troops are ready" for the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

"If there are people who cannot deal with the change, then they're going to have to do what's best for their troops and best for the organization and best for the military service and exit the military service, so that we can move forward -- if that's the way that we have to go," Hill says in an interview with Roland Martin, scheduled to air Sunday.

Hill says it will be up to military brass to "set the tone" for the rank-and-file in accepting gay service members.

"We know that if there is a change, that that change will have to be led, and it's going to have to be led by senior leaders such as myself and -- and others across the battlefield," Hill says.

CSM Hill is jumping the gun, so to speak. DADT hasn’t been repealed, so he is actually threatening troops for complying with the current UCMJ.

His sorry rump needs to be stood up in front of a court martial, convicted, reduced to E-1, and removed from the service with a dishonarable discharge.

Aren’t military officers and soldiers supposed to NOT talk about politics in public?

We can talk about politics, but we can't be advocates of a particular position. We are limited in how much we can work in campaigns, and cannot do anything political in such a way that it looks like the Army is endorsing something... I pretty much stopped campaign work when I joined the Army, it just got too complicated trying to figure out what I can and can't do.

Hey even back in 1971-1975 when I was in the service it was way too PC. We had a to sit through many mandatory counseling sessions. It was WAY overboard just to prove they cared. It was a lot to take for people who were not involved in racism. It made me feel like a criminal.

If they let faggots join, why should they be allowed to discriminate on age? People 40 plus in age should be allowed to join the Army. I’m sure there are some 50 something Freepers that could out-shoot, out-command, and out-run most of the grunts in the Armed Forces.

Depending on the MOS, people over 40 can join the Army.

He’s obviously in the running for Sergeant Major of the Army. However, unless he was totally coerced into making this statement, and it is *known* that he was totally coerced into making this statement, the odds of him actually *becoming* SMA just fell off a very high cliff.

If he was smart, he should have gotten in writing that he was *ordered* to make this statement. And he should make sure that everyone who is anyone, especially US senators, see that paper.

Among other requirements of being appointed to SMA, it strongly helps to be able to function “when the hand of every man is raised against you”, and to have a back impervious to knife wounds.

To be nominated for SMA and not win effectively means your retirement is imminent. There are no second chances.

There is not one civil right being violated by DADT. The real agenda is acceptance and benefits.

I looked what pro-gay blogs were saying about the report and guess what? They are still whining!

They want “homosexual” listed along with race, sex, religion. They want “homosexual” counted in all aspects as separate!

They want partner benefits and housing.

The report recommandations say that nothing should change as far as complaints go, go through the chain of command....not good enough!!!

I've been a Staff SGM since 1991, and there is no way I'd ever say anything like this to our troops. He is an idiot.
