Oprah Rips Americans for Not Supporting Obama
Friday, December 10, 2010 | Kristinn

Posted on 12/10/2010 7:25:38 AM PST by kristinn

Syndicated TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey tore into the American people for lacking "reason," "respect," "civility," and "decency" and "only thinking about themselves" for not supporting Barack Obama. Winfrey made her scathing criticism during an interview with ABC's Barbara Walters.

A survey released this week showed that a majority of the country believes they are worse off after nearly two years of the Obama presidency.

WALTERS: "And today, what would you say to him (Obama)? How do you feel about it all?"

WINFREY: "I feel that it is, first of all why would anybody want that job? To get, because no matter what you do and how uh, much you give of your heart and wisdom and uh, soul and energy, and I think he's, he's really fully there, giving his all. And to be criticized the way he is I think it's unfortunate. I think it's unfortunate when you have a nation of people who don't want to support the president of the United States."

WALTERS: "Do you think he's communicating?"

WINFREY: "I think that he is. You know what I think that what wasn't communicated? I think we don't realize was how close we came to depression. And as soon as we got saved from the brink of that we all forgot what that was, we all forgot. And so I think that he has done a lot and I think that people uh, can't see it because they're only thinking about themselves. The fact that people uh, still are out of jobs, but we're not in breadlines, we have forgotten, we have forgotten how close we came.

"So I think that there needs to be a greater level of respect and a sense of uh, decency and civility and reason. And I think we, we've lost that."

If you didn’t know anything about them, they look like three very nice people.

It must be nice to be ignorant sometimes...

A third of the country still thinks so. Isn't that sad?

*I wonder who is the bigger megalomaniac—Obama or Oprah?*

Science does not have the answer to such a question.

It will be decades before technology can register such a large quantity of hubris.

That’s rich. A multi multi millionair-ess - who sat back silently and never said one word - not one sound - as President Bush was viciously attacked by her friends, the media, the entertainment industry, unions, students, teachers, and more. She now wants us to stop criticizing her precious baby black president? Oprah is that out of touch. Blinded by race. Blinded by the insulation her wealth provides. Made wealthy by capitalism and freedom and the American Constitution. Oprah thinks she’s Obamas mama.

Yep. Very very sad.
A little less time watching “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “Gilligan” reruns and more time watching Fox and news from sources other than the lamestream ABC, NBC AND SEE BS.

But hey, I got to laugh at Oprah, all-wise and all-knowing, she who will lead us from darkness into light.

How many frauds has she endorsed on her show? What is the count up to?
Like some others on this thread, I probably could count on one finger the number of times I have watched an entire show of hers.

Shelby Steele identified the psychology which led to Obama’s election. WSJ - MARCH 18, 2008

The Obama Bargain By SHELBY STEELE

The Wall Street Journal, page A23
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120579535818243439.html?mod=opinion_main_commentaries

[huge snip]

“...But bargainers have an Achilles heel. They succeed as conduits of white innocence only as long as they are largely invisible as complex human beings. They hope to become icons that can be identified with rather than seen, and their individual complexity gets in the way of this. So bargainers are always laboring to stay invisible. (We don’t know the real politics or convictions of Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan or Oprah Winfrey, bargainers all.) Mr. Obama has said of himself, “I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views . . .” And so, human visibility is Mr. Obama’s Achilles heel. If we see the real man, his contradictions and bents of character, he will be ruined as an icon, as a “blank screen.” ~ Shelby Steel

More Shelby Steele:

shelby steele white guilt http://iluvsa.blogspot.com/2009/04/white-guilt-by-shelby-
04/11/2009 In his book White Guilt, Shelby Steele tells us why, explains the sorry spectacle of over forty years of misguided government intervention in the lives of black people and the social devastation and erosion that “redemptive liberals,” white and black, have wreaked upon a people, undermining their earlier comparable independence and social cohesion.

Amazon.com Review: Shelby Steele’s first book, The Content of Our Character, sparked outrage over its indictment of liberal American policies and attitudes towards race. A Dream Deferred expands Steele’s critique, comparing government interventions (like affirmative action) to the most damaging practices of slavery and segregation, Soviet Communism, and Nazi Germany. Customer review: Profound Sociological Insights, December 9, 2001
By S. M Marson (Lumberton, NC) - See all my reviews
Prior to reading THE CONTENT OF OUR CHARACTER, one will find it helpful to know something about Sheby Steele’s background. He has a Masters in Sociology and a Doctorate in English Literature. As a result, we find a well-written book with profound sociological insights. Generally speaking, sociologists are not well known for being good writers. Steele is clearly the exception. [snip]
From Publishers Weekly: Steele, seeking to improve strained race relations, demonstrates how social policies intensify rather than lessen racial differences, how blacks and whites tend to see color before character, and how blacks are often oppressed more by doubt in their abilities than by racism. This won a National Book Critics Circle award. [snip]

Customer review: March 22, 2009 By Keith E. Martin[] (Greenville PA USA) - See all my reviews
Already a fan of Shelby Steele, I made a conscious choice to wait to read A BOUND MAN until after the results of the 2008 U.S. Presidential election, and I have just finished doing so. Clearly, Steele’s 2007 prediction did not turn out to be prescient, but not only is the book still a worthwhile exploration of how our current President’s past has and will continue to be woven into his present, Steele’s presentation is a masterfully concise distillation of his own very insightful take on why race relations are stuck and why this stuckness harms blacks even more than it does whites, while suggesting reasonable, doable strategies for breaking the logjam. In that sense, while some can just yuck off the book with sophomoric dismissals because Steele didn’t turn out to be a prophet, the insights about Barack Obama and how he is bound to the deals he’s made with the devils of 20th-Century racial politics are even more important for our citizenry to absorb — given that Obama’s stuckness is bound to have much more effect on our country than it would have had he not been elected. If you skip this book for trite reasons, don’t fool yourself — you do so not because you want to give the President the benefit of the doubt but because you just don’t want to know. bttt

Yeah, why wouldn't they want to support a nightmarish massive unsustainable bureaucratic maze dependency state?

Go figure! Daytime TV talk show hosts, what don't they know?!

The only thing O-Boo-Boo communicates is that he`s a extreme leftist, hyper-partisan, imbecilic boob of a puppet being manipulated by dried up, warped and perverted, old world communists like George Sorros. Hows that for civility, Okra?

"Oprah Rips Americans for Not Supporting Obama"

I suppose Oprah is some big whoop-de-doo for bored housewives and welfare recipients, but everytime she makes the news it's just an outcrop of BET.

In order to "support obama", logic dictates that by now (2+ years) he should have done something worthy of support...other than just being black, which is obviously enough for Oprah.

The idea that he can do no wrong because he's black is preposterous, the proof exists and the fact is he's a major fail in almost everything he's done.

The only "A" he could possibly get is in living the rock star lifestyle and schmoozing the adoring crowds...until he opens his mouth.

Paul Harvey once did Oprah's bio on "The rest of the story", and said that she worked at a local TV station in news, but could not read well enough to be an "anchor"; they noticed that she did have the gift of gab, so they put her on a local talk show, and she evolved from there.

I think it's ironic that she now has a "book club".

But, integrity be damned when it comes to who she supports and why; obama has done very little worth noting, well, in a positive sense anyway. He's done plenty to wreck America.

So HARPO is now "ripping Americans"...seems to be a common theme amongst the obamaland inhabitants. Everyone else in the country is just wrong - but those who live in obamaland and oprahvillage are all-knowing, all-seeing, but mostly all-talk.

As Oprah hitches her wagon to a falling star, she just may go down in flames too.

But, she's still pretty popular - the same whay obama is popular - GIVING STUFF AWAY to the chia pets.
