What did the GOP compromise?
The 13 months unemployment. As Rush pointed out, if they were going to cave, they should have gone for 6 months. As it is now, a year from now, right before Christmas, the Dems are going to use the same club against the Repubs.
Big mistake on our side. We could have had a BIG win instead of just a win. It would have only taken until Friday.
It doesn't bode well for us.

GOP compromised on the unfunded extension of unemployment and the reduced payroll taxes. Frankly, we can’t afford the reduction in payroll taxes until SS is fixed, somehow. My guess is that Obama wants to bring SS to a crisis point and then blame Republicans for raising the retirement age.
This is not a "tax cut" its a tax rate cut , people will just get smaller returns than usual, and less will be with held by the IRS. The tax itsef remains the same. HOw foolish is that? Simply put, we get less witholding for two years and owe the same amount we would otherwise pay each year. We have been had royally.
