Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange Refused Bail

The founder of the whistle-blowing website Wikileaks, Julian Assange, has told a court he will fight extradition to Sweden.

Bail was refused and the Australian, who denies sexually assaulted two women in Sweden, was remanded in custody pending a full hearing next week.

Mr Assange told a judge at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court he would contest extradition.

A Wikileaks spokesman said Mr Assange's arrest was an attack on media freedom.

Kristinn Hrafnsson said it would not stop release of more secret files and told Reuters on Tuesday: "Wikileaks is operational. We are continuing on the same track as laid out before.

"Any development with regards to Julian Assange will not change the plans we have with regards to the releases today and in the coming days."

Secret locations

He said Wikileaks was being operated by a group in London and other secret locations.

Five people, including journalist John Pilger and socialite Jemima Khan, stood up in court offering to put up sureties but bail was refused and he was remanded in custody until 14 December

Julian Assange, has told a court he will fight extradition to Sweden.

OK we will then extradite you to any one of the dozen other countries that want you dead. I wonder if Julian has had that Oh $#!T moment yet where he realizes that he has poked the big dog one too many times.

Nature abhors a vacuum. When a free press looses it’s objectivity, there is a vacuum. What fills that vacuum may not taste very good. The carnage that the wiki boys are creating is atrocious, but visible. The hidden damage our tax dollars are paying for in Washington on the other hand...

Wonder where Jemima Khan’s Taliban-allied husband was. Actually, I wonder if they allow him to enter the UK now. Her father was Jewish.

"who denies sexually assaulted two women in Sweden"

Personally, I hope Assange is sexually assaulted himself whilst in prison, daily.

But, if this were just another guy who was arrested in the UK for doing what he is alleged to have done in Sweden, that alone would be a story worth discussing, if for no other reason that the allegations are facially absurd.

The complaint essentially stipulates that he had CONSENSUAL sexual relations with two women fairly close together in time frame (weeks not months). One of the women found out about the other, and got pissed. She then asserts she was "assaulted" because Assange had "unprotected" sex with her, and this assault charge is apparently supported in Swedish law. That's crazy.

This is the feminine liberal state in it's full glory. Not only do women have the right to say "no" before coitus, they have the right to say "no" WEEKS after coitus - coming to a city/state near you, soon. Believe that.

rush will have fun with this:

>His point of contact was a female party official, whom we shall refer to as Sarah (her identity must be protected because of the ongoing legal proceedings).

>An attractive blonde, Sarah was already a well-known ‘radical feminist’. In her 30s, she had travelled the world following various fashionable causes.

>While a research assistant at a local university she had not only been the protegee of a militant feminist academic, but held the post of ‘campus sexual equity officer’. Fighting male discrimination in all forms, including sexual harassment, was her forte.

I hope they don’t rush into internet censorship because of this Assange guy. Glenn has me worried and with this sub-Saharan government the media tricked the public into anything can happen.

Don't point out the obvious to the mouth foamers here.

The whole thing is a trumped up charge worthy of the Soviet Union.

You not only couldn't get arrested in Sweden for doing what he did with the two twinkies, you'd probably get an award.

It's utterly ordinary crap that goes on every day and never results in anything except a lot of nasty phone calls, if that.

No honest judge would even entertain such charges. But corrupt judges under the influence of national governments will. And that's all they've got on this guy.

He's already fled to another country to avoid a police interview.

Who could possibly have expected that he would be given bail?

‘Crampus sexual equity officer’. Fighting male discrimination in all forms, including sexual harassment, was her forte.

Fixed it.

Can someone please explain to me how this guy is any worse than the New York Times? The NYT was constantly leaking war strategy to the public that put our troops at risk. As far as I can see, this guy has only leaked gossip among the elites that put reputations at risk.

I am seeing way too much knee-jerk on this story.

I agree with you. He may be a cad to women in his life, but to call this rape requires use of the feminazi dictionary.

He's probably marginally safer in jail than he would be out on the street. His main concern at this point should be the Russians and nothing else.

Yup. The Russkies were - and still are - masters at whacking enemies in broad daylight on crowded streets with microscopic poison-filled needles. Ain’t technology wonderful?

To make matters even more ate up, the most punishment he could face is a fine of less than $800. No jail time. These breathlessly reported ‘rape’ and ‘sexual assault’ charges are a joke. They were dreamed up by the twinkies ‘gender lawyer’? WTF is a gender lawyer?!
