Oh gee, thank you for your permission to have an opinion.
People on FR really don’t need a ‘look their watching’ warning from anyone. The majority of FReepers are geniunely warm and compassionate when it comes to this type of situation and it doesn’t matter what side of the aisle the person is from.

I wish Mrs. Edwards as pain-free an ending as possible and condolences to her children and extended family.
As for her husband, I hope he rots in hell.

And you were appointed the spokesperson for "People on FR" and "the majority of FReepers" by whom, exactly?

One February 25th they stopped treating my wife for cancer and began palliative care. They told me she had 6 months tops. Two days later they adjusted that down to 4 weeks. She died 10 days later.
Good luck Mrs Edwards, you fought well.

From observing, Ive not seen alot of flaming on here when it comes to this type of situation. It was meant as a compliment to the type of people here....cant imagine how you became a part. So far the only "flaming" I'm seeing on this thread comes from you.

Hope she finds peace.
He will probably throw himself on the mercy of the court as the only parent left so he CAN"T go to prison. The timing is.......weird.

Passing this way, for both the cancer sufferer, and their family, its a blessing and a curse. The long goodbye is a great gift... and it is so very hard to accept.
God bless Elizabeth and her family.

She actively participated in one of the greatest frauds ever to be perpetrated on the voting public. While playing the part of the dutiful wife, she was fully aware of John Edwards’ proclivities, and even lied about his love child until the DNA revealed the truth. All in attempt to secure power for herself.
Every honest article I’ve read about her describes a miserable person who treated others with contempt and was dismissive of anyone she perceived as a subordinate.
No one deserves her fate, but the Karma Wheel does have a way of coming around.

VERY well said, but this is a bleeding heart thread, don’t you know?

Elizabeth Edwards was not a battered, clueless woman. She was complicit in the whole ordeal with her cheating, lying husband. She knew about Rielle and the baby before he ran for Pres. and she knowingly allowed Johnnie to deceive his supporters (and hopefully the rest of the country) as well in the hopes of someday becoming FLOTUS.
It has been written that of the two, she was the more ruthless and driven....
She is not nor ever has been a victim, but rather a volunteer.

All in attempt to secure power for herself. I know and I agree. When it comes to politicians and the rotten things they do, this bunch is about as bad as they come.
That said, I can't feel anything but sorrow for Mrs. Edwards. Politics is politics. She didn't kill anyone.

“Cast the first stone...” Anyone? Dying is tragic. Dying young is more so. Making big mistakes in life, or big sins — tragic. We’re all in it together, this human condition. Pray for her and yourself, because you never know but that God is less offended by her works than by yours.
God bless you and yours, Mrs. Edwards.

They reported on the news tonight that he (John Edwards) is there with her and his children at present. - I’m just thankful that God spared us from him as President, even though I wish we didn’t have what we’ve got; but I’ll take it as God’s will and keep on keeping on.
