BERLIN – Online payment service provider PayPal says in a company blog it has cut off the account used by WikiLeaks to collect donations.

The company said in a blog posting the move was prompted by a violation of its policy, "which states that our payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity."

The short notice was dated Friday, and a spokeswoman for PayPal Germany on Saturday declined to elaborate and referred to the official blog posting.

Looks like private business has more power than the US government to affect the leaks. Amazon shuts down their server access to Wikileaks now Pay Pal chokes off the money supply.

Pretty soon they’ll be forced to pimp their leaks with tiny excerpts hoping to get hits.

Ah, the pressure builds . . .

Two Australian newspapers this morning feature articles in which Assange whines about being abandoned and betrayed by his country. Rumors that Wikileaks is set to release Australian government documents might have something to do with that.

It was revealed [Attorney-General] Mr McClelland has also ordered a taskforce of Australian soldiers, intelligence officers and officials to investigate whether Mr Assange and his organisation had breached any Australian laws. ''The publication of this kind of information is incredibly irresponsible and reprehensible,'' Mr McClelland said.

Australia has abandoned me

I would wish the earth would open up and swallow him to oblivion but that wouldn’t work since the earth would vomit him back up.

This criminal, as you call him, is as vile an reprehensible a thing as I have seen.

The beginning of the end for the gajillionaire puppetmaster. The next (Republican) DOJ will be able to bring him up on sedition charges.

And be mercilessly nagged by humbelgunner to "post the whole thing here"...

You know, this totally smacks of a Soros operation. I’m sure if Georgie is involved, he was hoping for leaks that would embarrass Bush; instead, it looks like Obummer is the one with most of the egg on face, so he’s probably pissed.

And yeah, let’s investigate Soros. And a Republican House is just the body to do it. Why is Media Matters given tax-exempt status when it functions as a political organ for the libturds?

Not so much a proposition of power as it is the will or desire to do something. wackyleaks fits into Øbongo’s anti-America strategy.

There is good reason to believe that Amazon and Pay Pal are acting on the demands of the US Government, despite claims to the contrary. Agree or disagree with the leaks, this is government-mandated censorship, pure and simple. And of what?

The leaks are revealing information that is very embarrassing to the American ruling class sitting in Washington. They know that their very survival hinges on convincing us that it is in our interests to ignore the multitude of lies that have been revealed through these leaks and instead focus our ire on the Assange and WikiLeaks itself.

That which has been revealed thus far has done little to put our intelligence or military communities at risk and instead has given us concrete proof that our elected and bureaucratic rulers sitting in Washington have been feeding us lie after lie. They will shut this down at all costs, even if it necessitates putting pressure on private businesses to sever all ties with the website.

The people we are protecting by jumping on the “Kill WikiLeaks” bandwagon are the very people we acknowledge on any other day as the bottom-of-the-barrel scum of the earth. They are the ones being embarrassed by this information and they will do what they do best to ensure it gets shut down — they will lie and play to our fears.

As conservatives, we have nothing to fear from the truth. Good men and women never do. What has been revealed is the truth. It is not a convenient truth, as it reveals that those whom sit in power over us are the dishonest, incompetent snakes we have suspected them to be all along. Worse than that, they are dishonest, incompetent snakes who insist on treating us as children by telling us fairy tales instead of what is going on so that they cannot be held accountable.

There are legitimate topics that a government ought to keep secret. From what I understand of what has been revealed thus far, for the most part the information contained within these leaks does not fall within that category. Indeed, the bulk of it is embarrassing to foreign leaders because it reveals the depths of their corruption, as well as the corruption of our own. That is not a legitimate reason for secrecy and lies at the very core of everything that is wrong with our modern governments.
