All you folks should check and see if your grandparents (say those who arrived here c 1900) were citizens...

After much pondering, I'm now betting that none of my grandparents ever became citizens.

Words have meanings. The Democrats and the mainstream media have hijacked the language surrounding the immigration issue to the point that we had Michael Chertoff, the Secretary of Homeland Security and our nation’s top immigration official at the time, testifying before Congress using the term “undocumented workers” to describe illegal aliens. John McCain and Barack Obama studiously avoided the term “amnesty” to describe their comprehensive immigration reform plans and despite the evidence, baldly declared that it was not an amnesty. Instead, they used such euphemisms as “getting to the back of the line,” “an earned path to citizenship,” and “coming out of the shadows.” The Democrats and pro-amnesty crowd know full well that the American people are against amnesty, hence the avoidance of the “A” word. This Orwellian use of language is part of the scam.

The path to citizenship starts in their home countries. There are close to 3 million intending legal immigrants abroad waiting their turn to come into this country. Some have been waiting for more than 10 years. Allowing those who entered to stay and work here puts them at the front of the line. And why should we want these people as residents and citizens? They flaunted and broke our laws to get in here and they probably committed ID theft, tax evasion, etc. to work here.

A fancy term for amnesty.

All you folks should check and see if your grandparents (say those who arrived here c 1900) were citizens...

And what does that have to do with anything? We now have set immigration laws that need to be enforced.
