Mabe we can blame Bill Clinton. Wasn't he the one who authorized berets for everyone, instead of berets being reserved for elite military teams?

Back in the 50’s and 60’s when my career Army Airborne dad was serving, the only people who wore berets were Special Forces, a very elite and small group of our military. They weren’t even called “green berets” then which I think is a stupid name. Special Forces is better.
