I'm going with collateral damage. I think we tend to look at these kind of multi-national or international events with a (too) partisan filter. Assange and his ilk hate America, and everything it stands for. Just because Obama is at the helm, isn't going to change that (of course, Obama is too stupid to understand this). If the damage from Assange takes out Hilary or even Obama, he couldn't care less precisely because his primary objective is accomplished - diminishing America's standing and power in the world.
What is yet to be discovered, does Assange just hate America, or is his hatred nonpartisan, more along the lines of an anarchist. I think it may be the later, and it's a condition that is likely to be cured by the FSB, probably sooner rather than later.
I saw info that there is some Soros money that helps fund Wikileaks. True or not..I don’t know.
