A Virginia grandmother allegedly tossed her granddaughter over the railing of a fifth-floor outdoor walkway at a shopping mall in Fairfax, Va., Monday night.
The two-and-a-half year old toddler, Angelyn Ogdoc, died early Tuesday morning at Inova Fairfax Hospital after the 50-foot plunge.
Police told The Washington Post that Carmela Dela Rosa, 50, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and was being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
That charge will probably be amended to murder.
Dela Rosa and her granddaughter were reportedly walking with other family members from the shopping mall to the parking garage when Dela Rosa picked up the toddler and tossed her over the guardrail.
Police refused to comment on what could make the crazed grandmother toss the toddler.
"We don't discuss motives," a police spokesman told MSNBC.
“The only non-demonic explanation I can think of would link it to the sudden cessation of using anti-depressants (SSRIs). That, or somehow the general stress of life suddenly far exceeded the ability of the anti-depressants to handle it, to the same effect. But if that’s the case, look for many other people to start snapping in similiar ways, to similiar extremes. “
You are assuming that she was on them in the first place. Maybe she or her family did not know she had a problem. Maybe they just now found out. Maybe she has a mental illness that just boiled to the surface. That is what it sounds like.

Yes, I’m afraid you are right. It truly is scary, sickening and sad. The hope I have is, there are still many good people in this country who love God first, and then family and country. I’d say it is a majority of the American people.
It has since been changed to murder now that the child died this morning.

Also, being reported on Fox 5 that there is mall security video showing the woman throwing the child over the parking garage catwalk wall. Evidently, it happened so fast that the people with her didn’t have time to react. Also, they reported that there were no reports of mental problems with the grandmother. There were reports that she actually doted on the child.
Extremely horrific and distressing.
OMG!! Prayers!!! And a quick death for the grandma!! I don’t care WHAT the motive was! DEATH...put the mad dog out of it’s misery!!
