A Virginia grandmother allegedly tossed her granddaughter over the railing of a fifth-floor outdoor walkway at a shopping mall in Fairfax, Va., Monday night.
The two-and-a-half year old toddler, Angelyn Ogdoc, died early Tuesday morning at Inova Fairfax Hospital after the 50-foot plunge.
Police told The Washington Post that Carmela Dela Rosa, 50, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and was being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
That charge will probably be amended to murder.
Dela Rosa and her granddaughter were reportedly walking with other family members from the shopping mall to the parking garage when Dela Rosa picked up the toddler and tossed her over the guardrail.
Police refused to comment on what could make the crazed grandmother toss the toddler.
"We don't discuss motives," a police spokesman told MSNBC.
No kidding. But, when you have a society that allows abortion on demand, include late term, what do you expect? Life becomes cheap and any excuse to destroy another life becomes excusable.
Sadly, your words are just too true. Life isn’t precious to some, so at what point in life does it matter if that life is snuffed out? Have we devolved that far in this country now? Scary, scary stuff when a country founded on morals and a belief in an Almighty Creator makes the conscious decision to exclude that Creator from societal participation. We’re seeing the fruits of the wisdom of those decisions.

Unbelievable. I’ve been on that walkway many times when I used to live in Northern Virginia.
If that had been my daughter she threw, “Granny” would have gone right after her..................

She doesn’t quite look like a “Virginia grandmother,” either. I’d bet dollars to doughnuts she’s one of the legion of “immigrants” simply enriching our culture and adding to the American tapestry...

Traditional Tibetan medicine includes a distinction between mental illness and possession. You're not considered a good doctor if you can't tell the difference, because obviously you would flail away with the wrong treatment because you never properly diagnosed the real problem.
This murderous act seems demonic to me. That's not a PC evaluation, but so what - only demons insist on PC usage anyway.
The only non-demonic explanation I can think of would link it to the sudden cessation of using anti-depressants (SSRIs). That, or somehow the general stress of life suddenly far exceeded the ability of the anti-depressants to handle it, to the same effect. But if that's the case, look for many other people to start snapping in similiar ways, to similiar extremes.
And due to the extreme social imbalance of people who take these types of drugs, virtually all of them would be liberals.
There’s got to be a lot more to this story. No matter how depraved this woman might be I just can’t see anyone just throwing a child off a 50 ft bridge...with other family members present, in broad daylight, for no apparent reason. Has the woman a history of mental problems? Sheesh...what can you say about something like this???

In an earlier post I suggest she was on meth, but I have no experience with crack hos so I will take your word for it. (my neighborhood is chuck full of meth heads)
