PITTSBURGH (KDKA) Passengers may be unhappy over long lines and enhanced security at the airports, but its a feeling shared by many at TSA.
Theres a lot more tension both by officers, fellow officers, and passengers, one Pittsburgh TSA officer told KDKAs Jon Delano in an exclusive interview.
TSA officers dont like the new aggressive pat-downs of passengers either.
I truly feel that it is morally and ethically wrong to do it, the agent noted. This does not make flying safer. Its just taking away American citizens rights. And all the horror stories at other airports only make things worse.
Everybody shudders when they hear that because they know that is not what were supposed to be doing, the agent said.
Isn’t it a bit like, you don’t bite the hand that feeds you? It would be hard to quit, especially if you don’t have prospects of an equal job. Or maybe no prospects for any job. This is where your principles have to take over and you have to rely on God as your source.
If these people quit, All that will be left are the brown shirts and perverts.
It’s true, it is criminal and everyone participating should be arrested. Especially PISTOLE, what a _______ fill in the blank.
While I know certain elements here will say that TSA is perfect Jack boot thug training, there was a person that asked the Cop Talk section of Glock Talk if working for TSA would enhance his chances for employment as a police officer when the hiring agency was considering job experience.
The concept and the TSA was universally ridiculed and bashed by the officers on the forum.
If you went through the airport to get on a plane. Could you do a citizens arrest? You refuse the scanner and refuse the molestation and they insist on it. Or do they not insist, hold you, which wouldn’t that be holding you prisoner, that’s also against the law....hmmmm.
I applaud this agent for blowing the whistle and working from the inside to affect change rather than handing over all TSA functions to the lowest of the low.

I agree with the agent’s words on this point. Obviously, however, the agent doesn’t completely agree with his own words, or he’d quit.
Much as I hate the actions of the TSA staff, I realize they never expected to be in such an ethical morass. It’s difficult to admit that you are being asked to do immoral things, and harder to admit that, if you stay, you might not be able to avoid becoming immoral yourself. I have experience with quitting a job where I realized I was working for criminals (it was a job with the University of California, by the way). The best advice I can give to someone who is considering quitting due to ethical considerations: quit, get a good night’s sleep (might be the first good night’s sleep you’ve had in a while), accept that your life will temporarily become much more difficult, let people help you pick up the pieces, and move on. None of those actions were easy for me, and they might not be easy for you, but they are the right thing to do.
Good point!!!! Maybe more and more TSA agents will step forward. Could they not just refuse to do the pat-downs? Against orders, go ahead fire me, kinda thing. The government doesn’t fire anyone and when they try, there is tons of paperwork and it can take months.
Eichmann alert!
The agent is blowing the whistle.
If TSA fires them, TSA looks bad and the agent gets unemployment.
If they quit, the job goes to someone without a conscious and the agent loses all benefits.
Quitting is for losers
I really think dissent in the ranks would bring about change faster than us peons complaining.
Amen to that!!!! Has to be diffcult and it makes me wonder. Did the government hire these people at a good hourly rate knowing that they would be doing this at some point. Once your working, making good money, knowing your not trained to do much of anything else but, work at wal-mart, it would be very difficult. I could see where you would feel trapped. This is when you rely on God as your source and quit or refuse to do the illegal, immoral things they are asking you to do. You know who hard it is to fire a federal employee? Takes months.
I agree, and this would be the way to go. I would think. Takes a lot to fire a federal employee.
Remember how the Libs all screamed about how intrusive the Patriot Act was?
For looking at your library card.

LoL!!!!
The push-back is starting. Believe me, it is.
I hope more agents start grumbling.
